US accuses Fiat of secretly exceeding emissions standards

The US Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday accused Italy's Fiat Chrysler carmaker of using secret software allowing illegal emissions from at least 104,000 diesel vehicles. Volkswagen earlier accepted to pay the US $4.3bn in fines and $16bn to American diesel car owners for cheating with diesel emissions certification testing. Six Volkswagen executives face criminal charges in the US.
