Second attempt to form Iceland government fails

Coalition talks between five centre-left parties in Iceland, led by the Left-Green Movement, have broken down, national broadcaster RUV reports. Earlier efforts by the conservative Independent Party, that emerged as the biggest after the election on 29 October, also failed. The third-placed Pirate party may now be offered a chance.
