Thousands of refugees sue Germany, and win

Some 17,000 asylum seekers have sued the German state this year for refusing them refugee status, and most have won their cases, reports Suddeutsche Zeitung. The asylum seekers, most of them Syrians, had initially been granted ''subsidiary protection", but the courts supported their claim to refugee status in over 90 percent of cases.
