Riots over the death of a Palestinian prisoner in an Israeli jail rampaged across the West Bank and Gaza this week. One of the detainees RT managed to reach said 25 of his fellow inmates had cancer and were being denied treatment.

The prisoner, whose anonymity is preserved for security reasons, believes medical assistance in the Israeli jails is withheld on purpose, “to break the will of the detainees.” Speaking to RT, he described the negligence sick Palestinian detainees are faced with.

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — A 17-year-old Palestinian died last week after Israeli authorities refused to allow him to leave the besieged Gaza Strip to undergo treatment for a congenital heart defect, the Gaza-based al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said in a report on Sunday.

A Palestinian child was kidnapped by Israeli cops at one of the gates of the al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem as tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday’s noon prayer at the holy site.

According to local sources, the child was kidnapped by Israeli policemen from one of the entrance gates to the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation police reportedly slapped dozens of traffic penalties against Palestinians driving in the area as part of a policy of collective punishment against Jerusalemites.

Hundreds of worshipers from the blockaded Gaza Strip were, meanwhile, denied access to Occupied Jerusalem to perform their prayer at al-Aqsa for the fifth week running.

At the same time, Israeli police troops and border cops cordoned off the main entrances to the al-Aqsa and the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli occuaption authorities (IOA) denied the entry of the ex-detainee Asma Abul Haija, the prisoner Sheikh Jamal Abul Haija’s wife, to occupied Jerusalem for medical treatment.

Family sources affirmed that the IOA blocked Abul Haija’s travel to occupied Jerusalem or to Jordan to remove a brain tumor.

Speaking to the PIC reporter, Abul Haija’s daughter said that any delay in her mother’s medical treatment would lead to serious and permanent health complications.

She may completely lose her eyesight at any moment, she added.

The family pointed out that Abul Haija’s health situation has seriously deteriorated since her son Imad’s arrest at the hands of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) nearly a month ago.

Since then, Abul Haija has repeatedly requested for a special Israeli entry permit to enter occupied Jerusalem and to conduct a medical surgery in the French Hospital.
