Lectionary: 248

Reading 1 WIS 2:1A, 12-22

The wicked said among themselves,
thinking not aright:
“Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us;
he sets himself against our doings,
Reproaches us for transgressions of the law
and charges us with violations of our training.
He professes to have knowledge of God
and styles himself a child of the LORD.
To us he is the censure of our thoughts;
merely to see him is a hardship for us,
Because his life is not like that of others,
and different are his ways.
He judges us debased;
he holds aloof from our paths as from things impure.
He calls blest the destiny of the just
and boasts that God is his Father.
Let us see whether his words be true;
let us find out what will…

KARLSHAMN, Sweden—This small port town offers a textbook case of how Russian President Vladimir Putin has thwarted U.S. and European efforts to rein in Moscow’s most powerful source of leverage and cash: energy.

Karlshamn’s local leaders in January opened its port to Russia’s state-owned energy company, PAO Gazprom, in defiance of Swedish national authorities alarmed by a growing Russian military presence in the Baltic Sea. A subcontractor for a Gazprom subsidiary is now allowed to store pipes here for an $11 billion undersea natural-gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, easing the path for a project…

European Union boss Jean-Claude Juncker Says “We In the EU Should Break Up The U.S.” — Calls for independence of Texas and Ohio

Peace and Freedom

EUROPEAN Union boss Jean-Claude Juncker this afternoon issued a jaw-dropping threat to the United States, saying he could campaign to break up the country in revenge for Donald Trump’s supportive comments about Brexit.

PUBLISHED: 12:14, Thu, Mar 30, 2017 | UPDATED: 16:52, Thu, Mar 30, 2017
.

In an extraordinary speech the EU Commission president said he would push for Ohio and Texas to split from the rest of America if the Republican president does not change his tune and become more supportive of the EU.

The remarks are diplomatic dynamite at a time when relations between Washington and Brussels are already strained over Europe’s meagre contributions to NATO and the US leader’s open preference for dealing with national governments.

They are by far the most outspoken intervention any senior EU figure has made about Mr Trump and are likely to dismay some European leaders…

A Cloud That Rains….Tequila!

Moss and Fog

A brilliant and bizarre marketing campaign to promote Mexico to dreary Berliners, the Tequila Cloud is actually what it sounds like. DesignBoom explains how this magical contraption works:

Lapiz formed the ’tequila cloud’ by using ultrasonic humidifiers to vibrate tequila at a frequency that turned it into visible mist, just like a cloud. The boozy mist then condensed into liquid form as it came into contact with a plastic container, making a real cloud rain tequila every time it rained in berlin. The tequila rain fell straight into the shot glasses of the surrounding audience, convincing them drip by drip to book a holiday south of the US border.

We love the ambition and wild creativity of this project, and it does the trick. When can we go back to Mexico?
