Inspired by someone I very much admire, I decided to start an open journal. I have realized that I have a lot to say and I need a place to say it. You can expect to see a variety act in on this blog. I will write in whichever way suites me, whether it be poetry, prose or proetry. As this is an open journal I will be writing as if others are reading but I know you all have full and busy lives and by no means do I expect you to keep up. Please tune in when you can, comment when you’re touched and enjoy this trek into my mind.
I hope you find this blog entertaining and poigniant.
O
A Labyrinth: The labyrinth of ancient Greek mythology was built by Daedalus for King Minus. The labyrinth housed the Minatour, a fierce half man/half bull creature who was the offspring of King Minus’ wife and a beautiful white bull King Minus had decided to keep as a pet instead of sacrificing to Poseidon. Poseidon made King Minus’ wife fall in love with the bull as punishment. The Minatour was killed by Theseus, who would not have been able to get out of the well-built maze without the help of Ariadne who supplied him with a string that served as a guy to lead him out.
So hopefully I will find my guy (pun intended) and not the Minatour.
Hey Ophra, great to meet you tonight, and to hear some of your poetry “live” rather than just written on the page! You should put it up as sound tracks as well, rather than just the text – I think you’re reading really adds something! Feel free to check out my own stuff – although I haven’t posted for a while…
