Creative Writing Workshop for 11 – 16 year olds

Kicking off with Dylan Thomas’ ‘Holiday Memory’, we’ll unearth and record our own holiday memories; with tips and ideas for keeping your writing going over the summer holidays.

Poetry Surgery with Helen May Williams

This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss your poetry on a one-to-one basis with poet and tutor Helen May Williams, who offers a relaxed but in-depth analysis of your poems.

Voice and Character in Poetry

A Workshop for Adults with Anna Lewis. This workshop will look at how we can expand the range and depth of our own unique voices by experimenting with alternative personas and points of view.

Events

Exhibitions, talks, readings, plays, children’s workshops, or guided tours; there’s plenty on offer at the Dylan Thomas Centre and other venues throughout Swansea.

Celebrating emerging young writers

Last week we hosted the Terry Hetherington Young Writers Award, an occasion we always enjoy. The award was established by Cheval, in memory of the late poet Terry Hetherington, to provide a platform for young people to express themselves through the medium of poetry and prose.

Going down a storm with families!

Our much-loved place of pilgrimage for fans of Dylan Thomas is going down a storm with families so much that it’s been shortlisted for a top UK award.

Half-term Hijinks and Dylan Vs Fungi Man

We’ve had a lovely time at the Dylan Thomas Centre this half term, with the Learning Space open all week for workshops and self-led activities.
