My Story

The Shop

  • Feels like forever since I've been in this space. I'm working on custom quilts these days, and currently one I can't share, so I really don't have much to share. Although I've been sharing a lot of Wilbur and JoJo on my stories. We moved Wilbur inside for winter and just got an indoor area for him. The door pretty much stays open during the day but he won't venture out yet. Instead, JoJo goes in. She has surprised me with how quickly she became friends with Wilbur. She wanted to play with him almost instantly, which is a huge departure from her normal bitchiness with all other animals. Wilbur still isn't sure, but definitely not afraid of her. I'm sure in time I'll find them chasing each other around. He still remembers you go potty in the litterbox, but his little poop pellets are less of a priority to him. As long as we have peeing down, I'm good for the moment. I'm just going to work hard on getting him pooping in the box, too. I am still figuring out modifications I want to do to that area. I think he's a little sad to be inside. He loved running free outdoors, but it's getting too icky out there. Today he displayed his displeasure at having only hay to eat. We give him fresh greens as well and after he had some lettuce and celery he did not want hay in his bowl. He thumped his foot quite a few times before Brice gave him a bit more lettuce and some carrot tops. We might have to start an indoor garden for this cheeky little bunny. I have a Wilbur highlight started on my profile page and I'm trying to remember to put some of the funnier moments in there if you missed my stories this past week. #kittygeorgette #wilburbunnyfoofoo #sometimescrafterfarm
  • Well I'll have to change clothes before I go quilt today, but getting loves from him is worth it. 99.9% of the time I swear he hates me. Then these 0.1% when I'm worthy of his snuggles make me all mushy for him again. #kittyboynorman
  • I had one of those proud-mama moments today. We got together with some homeschool friends to make ornaments and when it came time to decide how to decorate their hat, Brice opted to try embroidery. I was all 🤯...cause my kid does not craft. Ever. He is the opposite of crafty. I thought for sure I'd have a fight on my hands to make this at all, but nope. He wanted to sew that snowflake on. He did about half of it on his own, and did so good. He did however decide he'd had enough when it came time to stitch the hat together and make the pom pom head. I was okay with doing that for him, cause I wanted a good memory and not an argument about doing it all himself. The fact that he had such a good attitude about it and made the decision to stitch himself, and had a great attitude even when it was frustrating, was enough for me. #homeschooling #christmascrafts

  • I'm going to do a live video shortly of me opening this and today's item if you were interested in seeing what's inside. I'm super excited! This is an early Christmas gift from my mom and I totally wasn't expecting it. I didn't even know it was a "thing" but how could it not be so awesome when it's @missouriquiltco!
  • It's pretty cute how happy they are when their man is home. Norman crawled under the blankets all on his own. Aaron didn't even notice, I had to point it out. That's some solid cat adoration right there. #kittyboynorman #kittygeorgette
  • I have always wanted to hang my bobbins with my thread, but I didn't like the idea of nails sticking out at me. Guaranteed I'd injure myself on them. So I never added them. When I built this thread rack for my longarm thread I really wanted a way to securely store the bobbins by the thread (some colors are so similar it's hard to tell them apart on a bobbin) but I really didn't want nails. I finally had an oh-duh moment and ordered small magnets. Not sure why it took me so long. I use magnets all over my studio for tools and supplie storage. Very happy with this solution to my problem! #sometimescrafterstudio

  • Currently her favorite spot to be. Close to the yarn and her people...in a box. Obviously I don't fight the cats being on the table. I'm not sure why this something I'm okay with, because it was never allowed when I was growing up, and I'm kind of OCD about keeping things clean...yet when it comes to the cats I don't fight it. I know they just want to be near us and I find it very soothing and calming to have them close by. And I need that. Boy do I need that. It's also right next to the giant picture window to the backyard/field/woods, so it's kind of hard to resist that if your a cat. So many birds and deer to see! #kittygeorgette
