Example – LA17-01
La15 & 16 are getting moved (see next post) so they quit before 1 p.m. Oct. 17th.
IT DID IT AGAIN – just before noon CST. And the LA17s are deep!

Modifications to Passive Seismic Monitoring at Bayou Corne
In coordination with DNR and APOEP, Texas Brine is relocating sensors and adding additional resources to the passive seismic monitoring system already in place. This is part of an ongoing effort to monitor for tremors and pinpoint tremor locations with greater accuracy. The near-surface seismic stations at LA15 and LA16 will be decommissioned and moved to two new sites to improve the quality of the seismic monitoring data.

How Fracking is Driving the Plastics IndustryHydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” is the process of extracting natural gas from shale rock layers deep within the earth by injecting highly pressurized fluids–including combinations of highly toxic
chemicals–into the shale to release the trapped gas. The process was exempted from the Safe Drinking Water Act in 2005, which means companies don’t even have to disclose the chemicals they use–chemicals which can contaminate ground water. Fracking has been linked to air and water pollution and even earthquakes.
BUT WHAT DOES FRACKING HAVE TO DO WITH PLASTIC?
Most people still think that plastic is made from petroleum–oil. And much of it is. But in the United States, a large percentage of plastic is actually made from natural gas. Why? Well, plastic is made from hydrocarbons. And fossil fuels like oil, natural gas, and coal are rich with hydrocarbons. In fact, in the early days of the plastics industry,
the primary source of hydrocarbons to make plastic was coal tar. The industry will use whatever is plentiful and cheap. And with the U.S. fracking boom, plastics manufacturers are encouraged to build manufacturing plants in the areas where the natural gas is being extracted. The more available natural gas, the more plastic manufacturing in the United States. . . .

“The soil (more like sludge) collected from outside the sinkhole turned out to be 30.5 % petroleum hydrocarbons. Many of these hydrocarbons are much lighter than the ones we have found from the BP oil spill. That means that these chemicals are more likely to get into the air. There were also hundreds of parts per million of heavy hydrocarbons, including toxic polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.”

Is there something about the work they doing (berm roads, boreholes, venting etc.) that is CAUSING these big sludge rivers of movement down there? This isn’t the first time the helicorders have shown fluid movement right before they start work. And officials put workers on top of this!
Stephen Charles points out the fluid movement is from the 6.8 quake in New Guinea.
