There are times when I can waste an entire evening watching Food Network.
Last night as one of those times.
Need up watching three consecutive episodes of Beating Bobby Flay and one of Flay’s challengers was Brian Lewis who actually managed to beat the famous chef in a cooking competition.
Lewis is the Owner and Executive Chef of The Cottage in Westport, and OKO, his Japanese-inspired restaurant in Westport, Conn.
I was impressed with his made cooking skills – and his sexy biceps!
Raised in Westchester, New York, Lewis discovered his love for cooking at a very early age. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with honors and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University.
Last night on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live: During the game Spin the Bottle, the cast of “Queer Eye” — Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Tan France and Bobby Berk — either dish on scandalous things or share a kiss. The second video is the After Show.
Kevin Bacon has long been one of my favorite actors.
I’ve seen just about everything he’s ever been in.
Sitting down with GQ, he breaks down his most iconic characters, including his roles in Footloose, Tremors, National Lampoon’s Animal House, Hot Rod, X-Men: First Class, Diner, Sleepers, A Few Good Men, Flatliners, Friday the 13th, The River Wild, Apollo 13, The Woodsman, Hollow Man, Mystic River, Crazy Stupid Love, The Following, City On a Hill and You Should Have Left.
Today’s very handsome Morning Man Josh Segarra played RuPaul’s boyfriend in the Netflix series AJ and the Queen.
The Arrow and Orange is the New Black alum will play will play Hector, Ruby’s boyfriend who possesses a dark, dangerous side.
Segarra, 33, has been steadily working on television in recent years. He was police officer Billy Cepeda on Sirens (2014–15),[1] Hector Ruiz on The Electric Company (2009–11), snd Justin Voight on Chicago P.D. (2014-16).
He has appeared many times on-and off-Broadway; he appeared in the original musical casts of Lysistrata Jones as Mick, Pasek and Paul’s 2012 musical Dogfight based on the 1991 film of the same name, and On Your Feet! in which he originated the role of Emilio Estefan.
Kathy Griffin talks with Jimmy Kimmel about becoming a film star, people believing she was a member of ISIS, being on the no-fly list, watching Donald Trump behind-the-scenes on “The Apprentice,” Paris Hilton, “The Bachelorette,” Stevie Nicks, and the impressions she does in her new movie A Hell of a Story.
For the latest episode of his podcast Dennis Anyone?,. host Dennis Hensley borrows his pal Danny’s West Hollywood apartment so he can interview writer-director-actor Mike Doyle about his new ensemble comedy Sell By, which recently screened at Outfest in L.A.
Doyle talks about where the original inspiration came from, how he found his actors, why it was important to him to hire out gay actors Scott Evans and Augustus Prew to play the central gay couple and how he got to shoot on the Highline in NYC for free.
He also talks about getting killed off on Law and Order SVU after being on the show for six years, being a “punch the clock, blue collar” actor and how he navigates the ups and downs of the business.
Other topics include: appearing nude on stage, getting on The Price is Right when he had $128 to his name and winning $8K, riding in an elevator with John McCain, writing a fan letter to Linda Lavin, his mom being a leader in P-PLAG, volunteering for the Hillary Clinton campaign, why he loves Tootsie, working on Jersey Boys with Clint Eastwood, being starstruck by Ryan Reynolds and that time in sixth grade when he dressed up for Halloween as a “pretty hooker.”
Wishing a happy birthday to actor Charlie Carver who turns 31 today.
Carver became known for his roles in Desperate Housewives, Teen Wolf and The Leftovers alongside his straight identical twin brother Max Carver.
He came out publicly as a gay man in 2016 and went on to appear in the first episode of the ABC miniseries When We Rise about the history of the gay rights movement. He also had roles in the feature films I Am Michael, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Fist Fight and is currently filming the film version of the hit Broadway play Boys in the Band.
The one-time Miss Florida who went on to play fictional beauty queen Suzanne Sugarbaker on Designing Women turns 63 today.
Her other signature roles include Noleta Nethercott in the original Sordid Lives movie and Cherry Cherry on Popular.
Delta has had battles with weight and depression over the years but, just like her Broadway character of Truvvy in Steel Magnolias, she has survived. I hope she returns to acting at some point!
She’s one of my all-time faves and I wish her the very best on her birthday and always!
Here are a few scenes of Delta as Suzanne and one as Cherry Cherry!
We entered 2019 with every reason to be confident we were going to have a strong year. But as the year progressed, decisions have been delayed and projects people had committed to do with us have fallen flat.
There are a number of reasons, of course. But the biggest change was the level of confidence brands and businesses in the UK have, due to the uncertainty over Brexit. It won’t surprise anyone to hear that many media organisations are struggling with the same problem.

None of us have ever made a profit from Gay Star News, despite our best efforts. In fact, our first and biggest supporters have all lost massively with our closure, including us personally. As time has gone on, it’s become clear the real reason people were continuing is that they loved what we do and wanted it to succeed. We all believed it would – but time and money have turned against us.
*****
The most heartbreaking moment, of course, was telling our team about our situation. They are exceptional, dedicated, talented. They are our family. We have tried our best to be the team leaders they deserve and are truly sorry that ultimately it wasn’t enough. We can’t imagine ever being lucky enough to work alongside such an amazing group of people again. If you have the opportunity to work with any one of them, now or in the future, please seize it.
And we need to thank you. Without our supporters and audience, there would, of course, been no Gay Star News. It has been an honor to serve you. Your comments, frequently witty and heartwarming, have brightened our days. At other times, when haters have made ignorant or stupid remarks on our social media, you have shut them down for us and stood up for others in our community. Your recommendations have made us grow. Your, often valid, criticisms have forced us to improve.
We have worked hard to empower, engage, unite, inform, inspire and entertain. We have solidly believed in the power of journalism. We have always believed in our community.
****** UPDATE: Things are moving quickly and people are still coming forward with plans to rescue Gay Star News in some form or another. Naturally we will do all we can to make it happen and we are grateful beyond measure for all those trying to help.

Some final thoughts: I am hoping that somehow GSN can be revived. It’s just too good to be gone forever. I stayed with it as US correspondent for so long (5.5 years) because I believed strongly in what we were doing and it was so satisfying as a journalist and as a member of the LGBT community to be a part of it. A GoFundMe account has been started to help out the 20 staff members receive a final salary. They find themselves suddenly out of work only days before pay day..
In 1977, The Carpenters released All You Get From Love is a Love Song, the first single off their album Passages. I loved this song then and now as much as any of their bigger hits. But for some reason, the single only peaked at humber 35 on the Billboard singles chart. I don’t think I’d ever seen any video of the duo performing the song before and came across it on one of the fan Facebook pages I’m a member of. So, I present it to you today for your enjoyment. The song has top 10 all over it!
Pete Buttigieg tells Chris Cuomo that Trump is playing his supporters for “suckers.”
“I’m not scared of this president,” Buttigieg said in a CNN interview. “I mean, this a guy who was working on season seven of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ when I was driving armored vehicles outside the wire in Afghanistan. I’m not afraid to take him on.”
Said Buttigieg of Trump’s technique with his base: “You know, the gift of this president is to take any energy that goes his way, even if it’s in the form of criticism, and turn it into a kind of food that he just grows off of and gets bigger. That’s the code that we’ve got to crack. And I think the way to do it is to name and confront everything that he does wrong, but then immediately go back to talking about the impact that we will have on voters’ lives.”
Attended Outfest over the weekend and really enjoyed the romantic-comedy From Zero to I Love You.
One of the leading men was Scott Bailey who played a man married to a woman who becomes romantically involved with a gay man (played by Darryl Stephens).
I did not realize until going home to look him up that Scott had also starred in the memorable Prayers For Bobby more than a decade ago in which he also played a gay man.
His first big break came in 2003 when he landed a role on Guiding Light and stayed for three years.
An actor and director, the 40 year old is known for Bank Roll (2012), Masked Rider: Dragon Knight (2008) and Timeless (2016) and for the popular online soap The Bay.
After receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University, Bailey worked as a mechanical engineer for the Department of Energy. While studying to receive his doctorate degree from UCLA, Bailey decided to postpone his studies in order to pursue another interest – acting.
He has been married to Adrienne Frantz since November 11, 2011.
