Thanks for using Fixed+. I’ve done my best to cover all of the options in the theme here, but if you have any questions feel free to email me [email protected].

Appearance Options

These babies will change the look and feel of your Tumblr at a high level. Any options set here will also reflect in other places besides this theme, like the mobile app or blog preview.

Background color
This will set the background color of all post types, until you override a post type background color manually.

Title color
This sets the color of your title text, as well as the default text color throughout your theme. Each post type text color can also be set individually.

Accent color
This will be used as the title hover cover, menu background color, and caption background color by default. Each of those colors can also be set individually.

Show header image
If this is turned on, your Tumblr header image will be shown as a background for the title content of your blog.

If it is turned off, your blog title content will float on top of the first post of your blog, with a transparent background.

Theme Options

Header logo

Uploading an image here will replace the title text of your blog with that image. Great for giving your Tumblr a branded look.

Colors

You can change just about every color that you see in your Tumblr. These values are initially set based the global Appearance Options (Background color, Title color, Accent color), but can also be changed individually. The labels of each color are pretty explanatory, so I won’t be covering them here.

Fonts

You can choose from a list of custom fonts supplied by Tumblr. These are set initially by the Title font option in the Appearance Options, but can also be set individually.

Select Options

These options allow you to customize certain parts of your Tumblr, such as how photos are displayed or how the menu looks.

Header height

Half screen, Quarter screen, Full screen, or Auto. Auto will fit the header height to the content inside.
Note I — This only affects the theme when “Show header image” in Appearance Options is enabled
Note II — If “Header contents attachment” is set to “Fixed,” the Auto option will not work properly.

Header image size

Fill screen— This will stretch the image proportionally to fit the screen at any size.
Tile— This will fit the image to the screen at the smaller dimension, and will tile the image to fill the rest of the space.
Tile - no stretch— This will keep the image at its original size and tile it (Good for seamless patterns and backgrounds).

Header image attachment

This option controls how the background image of your header scrolls.

Scroll — The header background image will scroll normally.
Fixed — The header image stays in place while the page scrolls past it.

Header contents attachment

This adjusts how the contents of the header (Title, description, avatar, etc.) are scrolled on the page.

Scroll — The contents of the header are scrolled normally with the page.
Fixed — The contents of the header will remain in place, on top of the blog content.

Header contents position

This option only makes a difference when “Header contents attachment” is set to Fixed. The options are self-explanatory and will aligned the fixed header contents to the Top, Center, or Bottom of your blog.

Photo image size

This option adjusts how Photo posts are sized.

Tile — The image will be scaled proportionally to fit the smaller dimension of the screen, with the image tiling to fill the rest of the screen.
Fill screen — The image will be scaled proportionally to fill the entire screen. Note: Since most viewers are on a horizontal screen, this option will crop vertical images heavily. Better for large horizontal photos.
Fit to screen — The image will be scaled proportionally to fit the smaller dimension of the screen, without any tiling. The empty space on the screen will be the Photo post background color.
Center - no stretch — The image will be centered on the screen, without any scaling. Note: large images will be cropped if they are bigger than the screen they are being viewed on (ex. on mobile).
Tile - no stretch — The image will tiled to fill the screen, without any scaling. Great for blogs that want to show small images or patterns (ex. blotterz).

Photo image attachment

This adjusts how Photo posts are scrolled on the page.

Fixed — The photos will remain in place while the page scrolls, giving the trademark “wipe” effect.
Scroll — The photos are scrolled normally with the page.

Captions on index

Controls how captions should be displayed on the main page of your blog. Captions are always displayed on Permalink pages.

With background — Captions will be displayed in a centered box with the background color designated in the color options.
Just text — Captions will be overlaid on posts with no containing box.
Big text overlay — Captions are centered over the post in a larger font, with no background.
None — Captions are not displayed on the index page.

Toggle Options

Infinite scrolling — When enabled, this will remove paging from your blog, loading a new batch of posts when the user reaches the bottom of the page.
Avatar above text — If the avatar is shown in the header, this option will decide if it’s shown above or below the Title and Description text.
Show menu — You have the option to hide the menu completely, making your Tumblr extra sleek and mysterious.
Show search in menu — Do you want users to be able to search your blog?
Show archive link in menu — Display a link to your Tumblr archive or don’t.
Show like/reblog buttons — Hide these buttons on the index page for a cleaner look. They will be displayed on Permalink pages always.
Show permalink button — Another option to make your blog look more minimal. Note that it will make it harder for users to grab a link to individual posts.
Show clickthrough link button — When enabled, posts with external links attached will show an external link icon in the lower right corner. When disabled, posts will open the external link when clicked instead of the lightbox view.
Horizontal photosets — When enabled, photosets are scrolled through horizontally across the screen. When disabled, the photos are stacked vertically like multiple normal photo posts.
Open videos in overlay — When enabled, video posts will be opened in an overlay so that they can be played and controlled at normal size. Otherwise, video posts are played fullscreen when clicked. NOTE:This effects embedded audio posts, like SoundCloud and Bandcamp as well.
Show install theme button — This will display a Install this theme button in the top-right corner along with the Follow and Dashboard buttons. If you want to be nice and promote the theme :)
Dark UI theme — Sets the UI elements as dark or light.
Rounded UI theme — Makes the UI elements round or square

URL Options

When filled in, these options will display a link in the Menu with an appropriate icon.

Mobile Theme

To enable the Fixed+ mobile theme, just make sure Use default mobile theme is deselected in the Advanced Options of your blog.

NOTE: While most of the theme options work on mobile, the ‘fixed’ parallax scrolling effect is not possible on mobile due to technical limitations.

Photo Display Tags

You can add certain tags to photo posts so that certain posts are displayed differently than the global setting. Below are the available tags you can add.

#tile — The image will be scaled proportionally to fit the smaller dimension of the screen, with the image tiling to fill the rest of the screen.
#fill — The image will be scaled proportionally to fill the entire screen. Note: Since most viewers are on a horizontal screen, this option will crop vertical images heavily. Better for large horizontal photos.
#center — The image will be scaled proportionally to fit the smaller dimension of the screen, without any tiling. The empty space on the screen will be the Photo post background color.
#no-stretch — This can be added in addition to #tile and #center to show the photo at the 100% original size, regardless of window or device size.
