Here is a favorite in our household!
2 pounds ground beef or veal
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small head broccoli, only florets (optional)
1 carrot, peeled and diced (optional)
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, minced
48 ounce can stewed, diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teasp Sugar
1 TBSP Basil
1 TBSP Italian Oregano
1 TBSP Rosemary
1 teasp Marjoram
1 teasp Spanish Paprika
1 large Bay leaf
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1/4 cup Parmesan/Romano cheese, grated
16 oz Shell Pasta (GF is often available)
Brown ground beef, cooking it with the onion, garlic and celery.
Drain all grease out, then add the other vegetables and the tomatoes, then the seasonings/spices.
Simmer while cooking the pasta (follow directions on package).
When pasta has cooked, mix it in with the meat and vegetable mixture. Serve hot sprinkled with the cheese.
