Bougainvillea went into full flush a few days ago. It is odd, because we are in a drought.

I am distraught. The weather is broken. This was it's last bloom 2 years ago. This year it bloomed 2 months too early. Climate change is not a hoax. It usually goes to fruit about 4 weeks after it blooms. This year, the blooms dried up and withered producing no fruit. I believe this variety of Mango is the sweetest on earth. (Mango Tree Totapuri)

Sky Vine Thunbergia grandiflora . I had to kill it. In spite of it's glorious beauty, the aggressiveness, maintenance requirements, and water consumption made the decision easier.

Apostle's Iris Neomarica Gracilis. Blooms that come and go too fast. They rarely last more than 3 days.

Today is a blustery day in the neighborhood. The bamboo is whipping around wildly, thrashing every plant within reach. The Scrub Oak sounds like it is ready to break and fly at any minute. We expect gale force winds through today, tonight, and into tomorrow. Part of the soffit and fascia on my house just went blowing down the street. Jess is pacing in circles. This is not good.

Fragrant Returns Daylily Hemerocallis. I expect hoards of these in the Spring. If you ever see one, take a snort. They do not call it 'Fragrant Returns' for nothing.
