Geri Linda Metterle (TT911): Many of the churches, cathedrals and monasteries where fortified, because of the Osmanes, who invaded once in a while Europe. Transylvania was so to speak the border line, where people tried to keep the Turks away.

The more I see in your collection, the more I want to visit this country. I've seen parts of it, but not the most beautiful and very few historical. But back in time, when I visited some of the places, history was not primary choice to visit. I had other interests ...

Shane Dallas (The Travel Camel): +Geri Linda Metterle I'm very keen to return to Romania. Of all the places I've visited since my 4 years of nomadic life, there are some real highlights - Ethiopia, Zambia, Zanzibar, Finland, Ireland, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran and definitely Romania.
