Not Carrots
A lot of times, when you see a splotch of orange, it means a load of carrots have been dropped for the cattle. In this case, it's California poppies blooming on the mountainside. If we are going to have a wildflower bloom this year, it has started. The bloom is not as prolific as we've seen, but, it's a lot better than the last four years of draught!

Sometimes, I don't pay attention. Okay, a lot of times I don't pay attention and it's probably getting worse the older I get. I always assumed railroad ties were wooden. Wood was all I ever noticed. I stand corrected. These suckers must weigh around 700 lbs each.
