Discovery
The space shuttle Discovery, at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Annex (Udvar-Hazy Center) near Washington DC. Well worth the trek out of the city to see this place - a huge aircraft hanger filled with things too big to display in the main Air and Space museum in DC. This includes the Discovery, a Concorde, an SR-71 Blackbird, and the Enola Gay (amongst thousands of other exhibits).
Seeing the space shuttle up close was the highlight for me - a cool bit of history just as SpaceX are ushering in the new era of reusable spacecraft.

Reflecting Pool, Washington DC
Getting up before sunrise, and peddling across town on a rented bike share is totally worth it when the result is a sight like this. This is the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool, living up to its name, and doing a good job of reflecting the distant Washington Monument.

The Mad River
Early morning at the Mad River in New Hampshire. It doesn't seem to be particularly mad, at least at this time of year. I imagine when the snow is melting in the springtime it could be a bit more ferocious.

The skywalk at the Prudential tower is pretty cool, especially around sunset. This is the view looking west: Fenway Park lit up brightly; the Citgo sign; the Charles River; and I-90 starting it's 3000 mile journey across the country to Seattle.
