Chasing My Ultimate Waterfall

My love for waterfalls is no secret. I chase them relentlessly.
This year, I made it my goal to see and experience the most elusive of them all: the Horsetail Falls/ Firefalls phenomenon in Yosemite National Park. This tiny waterfalls in the shape of a horsetail is located on the east side of El Capitan.

This phenomenon only occurs when a number of factors line up.
First, the Horsetail Falls needs sufficient water from the rain and melted snow for it to flow.

Next, the sun has to hit the granite wall behind the waterfall just at the right angle to cause the orange tinge. Lastly, the sun has to be close to the horizon.

I was fortunate to be at the right place and at the right time and as such, more excited than seeing the Northern Lights for the first time.

Perhaps because of its highly unpredictable nature. Even when conditions appear favourable, it may still not happen. Just like the day prior when we waited in vain.

So when this magical show finally occurred, albeit for a brief 2 minutes, it was a time-stopping event.

And when it happened again for the second time the next day and for a longer 10 minutes, I thought I was in heaven!

Indeed, these are moments I'll remember for as long as I live❤

Wishing you all a wonderful new week my friends!

Serenity in Yosemite

Yosemite is a wonderful place any time of the year. But when it's winter time, you get to truly enjoy the stillness of the place.

So quiet, all you hear is your heart beat.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend my friends.

Tasmania's Majestic Russell Falls

They're not the biggest...not even the tallest by any measure. But Tasmania's Russell Falls are just as mindblowingly impressive as they are beautiful 💚

It's a shame that I don't visit this gorgeous state as often as I should. Maybe I should this year:)

Wishing you all a beautiful day or evening my friends!

Gorgeous Russell Falls

Tasmania is famous for its lush, virgin forests and breathtaking waterfalls such as the Russell Falls.

It's also known as the green food bowl of Australia.

Whether you're a foodie or a nature lover, you'd find plenty to love about Tasmania:)

Iguazu Falls: Probably the most beautiful waterfall on earth:)

Impressively big and loud and jawdroppingly beautiful... Iguazu Falls is something that you need to experience to appreciate its grandeur.

This shot was taken from the Brazilian side where the waterfalls are bigger according to the Brazilians😎😎 While this is true, you do get "more" waterfalls in the Argentinean side as it has two-thirds of the Iguazu Falls.

I love both sides as you get to see different aspects of the Iguazu from each area.

But to go from one side to the other, you do need to cross the border. So make sure you have your passport with you and more importantly, your visa. Otherwise you'll be stuck at the border.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend my friends!

Living on the Edge!

For me, 2017 is about raising my standards and living BIG and LOUD like a waterfall:)

No more hiding behind my excuses. I must now tackle these big plans, big projects and big adventures.

It's time to start pushing my limit. It's time to start living on the edge!

Wishing you all an empowered year ahead my friends:)

The Spectacular Skogafoss Waterfall

It's one of Iceland's most popular and arguably most beautiful waterfalls, Skogafoss is truly a magnificent sight to behold.

It's massive at 25 metres wide and 60 metres high and easily accessible from Reykjavik.

I was so excited to see it and even did my victory jump:)

Wishing you all a fantastic day or evening my friends!

All love,
Nila

PS
I know I've been pretty sporadic in posting lately. That's because I'm working on an exciting new project that I hope to announce soon:)

In Skye, the beauty of the waterfalls has no limit

The path was muddy and slippery and we're all wearing the wrong type of shoes...but when the waterfall is as stunning as this, who cares about getting wet and dirty:)

Indeed, Skye's breathtaking beauty compels you to climb the muddiest hills, brave the freezing cold wind and rain just to enjoy its incredible landscapes 💚

Wishing you all a beautiful day or evening my friends :)

The Great Godafoss Waterfalls

There are a few places on this planet where you're simply lost for words when you come face to face with them...

Iceland is one of these places.

From its crazy amazing landscapes to its Aurora offering and of course its breathtaking waterfalls... there are no words big enough to describe Iceland.

The downside is, its increasing popularity means you'll be sharing most of these views with many others.

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend my friends!
