I love to travel - to explore new places and new cultures. My personal Wanderlust probably started when as a kid I discovered the main train station in my home city Hamburg, Germany. Just to stand there and watch the people bustle and trains come in and out of the station... it made my soul so happy and my heart yearn to jump on a train and explore. Now that I live in Colorado, I have the opportunity to travel around a different part of the world. Every day trip can be an adventure - even close to home.
And this year, I got to have the most amazing dream-(that I didn't even know I had)-come-true travel experience. For our anniversary, my husband Scott surprised me with a night at the Crawford Hotel inside the Union Station in Denver. No, just "a hotel in a train station" doesn't express this awesomeness of this place enough: it's a hotel that is a train station, it's a train station that is a hotel! The beautiful rooms are upstairs, off balconies that overlook the main floor, featuring old train station benches and comfy couches, shops, a bar (yes, you can take your food and drinks out into the main floor) - and hotel guests mix with travelers, shoppers and dinners in the liveliest and natural way.
Sipping a cosmo while sitting on a Colorado train station bench and dreaming of taking the Zaphyr train through the Rocky Mountains to California both stilled and fueled my #TravelFever aka #Wanderlust. That's #MyTravelStory... what's yours?
