One of my favorite pictures in #Slovenia was taken from the car.

It could have been anywhere in Slovenia, but it was in Bela Krajina. I took it on our trip to Predjama, where we visited the castle and had some terrific roadtrip time. We were on one of those winding roads that connect Metlika with the highway and Novo Mesto, when we spotted the small town with the church on top.

I don't know where it is, but I promise you will see this beautiful landscapes all over the country.

Did I tell you about Kolpa river?

It's one of the warmest rivers in Croatia and Slovenia (up to 22 degrees in summer) and it's also a natural border. It's also been in the news because of the refugees because this was one of those places where the government built the fences, but they aren't up everywhere now.

It's also a great place for outdoor sports and enjoying the beautiful slovenian nature.

Slovenian beehives These are more traditional beehives from Slovenia. They are colorful and full of life, although here you don't see the traditional paintings that #Slovenia is known for.

Insider tip: These were on top of an old truck, which has been repurposed as a giant #beehive.

This is also Slovenia When was the last time you saw a bee?

This traditional beehives are not the traditional slovenian type, but they also bring joy to local bees in Bela Krajina.

On a side note: bees didn't bite as they were too busy building their homes. But they did look fiery. And the honey was awesome tasty.

These were my views every day when I woke up in Slovenia. On the other side, the river Kolpa and the Croatian border.

Did you know Kolpa can get to 22 degrees celsius in Summer season? It's one of the warmest rivers in the region and a great place to swim, kayak or even go fishing.

A different angle over #Metlika town with the castle and the Church. They look one right besides the other but they are not that, that, that close when you are on the other side.

One of my favorite perspective pictures this year comes from Metlika graz, the castle of Metlika. It is not what you expect of an european castle, I have told you before, but you can tell it has become a more used building and has something of a mediterranean patio too.
