Hydrogenase project aims to create a self-sufficient organic airship

This conceptual transport system would be comprised of airships that produce biofuel from seaweed.

The vertical aircraft will be inhabitated and provides “a clean and ethic mobility to meet the needs of the population en distress touched by the natural and sanitary catastrophes, and all that without any runway. Its architecture is subversive and fundamentally critic towards the ways of living of our contemporary society that we have to reinvent totally.”

Tree hopper

Originally the ‘Tree hopper’ was aimed to support the city (and it’s inhabitants), overwhelmed with permanent rush and luck of time, due to significant commuting and inefficient urban space organization. However, while the design process, the concept evolved to become an inspiring ‘vehicle’, with potential to be both local and even global solution.

‘Tree hopper’ is a new public city infrastructure that allows you to disconnect from the city - in the city. It combines the satisfaction of pitching your own tent with the excitement of occupying a tree
canopy at the convenience of strolling to the park next door.

The Growroom is a spherical farm pod that brings agriculture to city streets

Space10 and Danish architects Mads-Ulrik Husum & Sine Lindholm created an innovative, beautiful urban farm dome that shows how we can bring nature and food farming back to our cities. With a rapidly increasing population, food demands are skyrocketing, but current factory farming methods are hardly sustainable. Space10 wants to address that problem with brilliant solutions like The Growroom.

Paris allows anyone to plant an urban garden

Paris just passed a new law that allows anyone to plant an urban garden within the city’s limits. Upon receiving a permit, gardeners can grow plants on walls, in boxes, on rooftops, under trees, or on fences. They can cultivate greenery in front of their homes or offices. They can grow flowers, vegetables, and fruit. Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo’s goal is to create 100 hectares of living walls and green roofs by the year 2020, with one third of that greenery dedicated to agriculture.
