Now for my own version, here's the story:
When I saw CRIMSON on the list I got an earworm that lasted the whole hunt and beyond..."Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells. https://youtu.be/GpGEeneO-t0
I was in Junior High when it came out and I loved it. I knew I had to find a way to use it as my CRIMSON. I found the 45 on ebay. Scavenger +Kyma Smith's husband had his old childhood record player...thank you Dennis! The cushions on my patio furniture has crimson stripes so that became my background. The overlay of musical notes is a brush found in Photoshop and tweaked to my vision. Just in case you miss it on the 45, I added "Crimson and Clover' in the space above the turntable. I had so much fun with this one!

Weather wasn't the most cooperative during this Hunt. I didn't feel up to battling Oklahoma wind at the zoo and didn't want to settle for a sparrow in my backyard. So I searched the internet for an alternative and found exotic bird store about 10 miles North of my house. Professional photographer and good friend +Kevin Focht once told me to always ask for what I want because "you'll never get anything if you don't ask."
So I jumped in my Cruiser and headed North to Piedmont, OK, and Birds Etc., owned by Jackie and Brad Clanahan, http://www.birdsetcetera.com/.
That's where I found this magnificent creature, "Thunder and Lightening." Glorious as she was in entirety, my eyes immediately went to hers. Isn't her eye incredible?! As it should be. "TL" isn't just any beautiful bird. She's a rare 2.5 lb. Hyacinth Macaw, a three-year-old rescue expected to sell for $15,000. And I had no idea of her existence until I took a chance and walked into the store to ask if I could shoot photograph a bird.

My version of GOLDEN HOUR was made at Lake Hefner, Oklahoma City. I went there during the Golden Hour to get a shot of the Light House with the sun in its evening descent, throwing golden streaks across the sky, a shimmering reflection across the water and a beautiful flare into my lens. I got it but it was only so-so compared to this one from a few feet left.

Once a vital part of America's Historic Mother Road, Route 66, this old bridge connects the East to West near the northern end of Oklahoma City's Lake Overholser. It's only about three miles from my house so I pass by it frequently. I've always been intrigued by the structure and the many photo ops built into it.

OVAL was the first hunt image I shot for Round 18. Although an egg may be the most common oval image used, I wanted its simple elegance. It stayed a simple egg for about four weeks while I tried several things to take it up a notch. I knew when I found the brush, the Eiffel Tower was the perfect touch for this Francophile!

This is my heart showing. I was so lucky it happened during this Hunt!
My oldest granddaughter, Aubrey, has had an incredible love for elephants since discovering her first "Lumpy" on a cartoon when she was a toddler barely able to talk. Her affection for them grows daily. So the family surprised her with a trip to the Elephant Ark Foundation, an elephant sanctuary in Hugo, OK, for her ninth birthday. We got up before dawn, drove for hours to sit on hard wooden benches in cold and rain on a trolley bumping through a field...all so Aubrey could meet Susan, the 65-year-old matriarch, up close and personal. This was her face when she found out she could feed and touch her. If seeing that kind of joy in your granddaughter's face isn't PRICELESS, I don't know what is!

I knew that most submissions would be of musical instruments. I wanted to do something different. My husband inadvertently gave me my subject (thank you Brian Queen) when he mentioned he had a dental cleaning appointment. Our longtime dental hygienist agreed to let me shoot while she cleaned (thank you Kim Bauer) and I set to work. Interestingly, her dental lighting was perfect for capturing my image.
