Basic search & tricks
A lot of you know how to use JewishGen. Or you think you do.
Here is a little lesson with "tips and tricks" to save time and cut your research time from hours to seconds.
Here I am showing how to search using any last name. And then searching the listed records (indexes) using the first name, or a known date, or a profession,or a a name of a town, any word you know might narrow down your research...
I used Belarus database as a research example. You will have to use database appropriate to your family research. HOWEVER, I strongly recommend you check ALL the databases available on Jewishgen using "tips and tricks" I have shown you here. You never know we're your ancestors really lived. Jews moved A LOT!!
