Why would you want the game to create E characters for you? You should always wait to have enough R+ to make an E+. Same goes for L. Always wait to have enough E+ fodder characters to make a L+.
Lots of people are going to screw themselves over by using this new Smart Ascend feature by making too many E and L characters then be stuck with them for long period of time.
That's the idea, mate. You smart ascend -> you lock your progress -> you have to buy more crystals -> Lilith makes more money.
