Rick’s system is at its best when we have shooters on the floor, this allows for a nice flow, and then driving lanes for the ball handlers.
When we traded for rondo, we were sacrificing some of our offense, in hopes of our defense improving enough to make up the difference. Obviously it didn’t happen.
This trade idea seems to be along the same lines. Sacrifice some of the offense to improve our defense (15th in defensive rating) and rebounding (5th in team RPG).
In my opinion, if we did this trade it would seem like we are going “all in” on winning this year, which would be a very short sighted move.
Let’s just ride this season out because obviously this team is a hell of a lot of fun, and then we can reevaluate things in the offseason.
