Today’s UT Libraries: innovative, collaborative, and more relevant than ever
The University of Texas Libraries doesn’t just house books. It is home to all kinds of information that is fundamental to learning and discovery. The world is changing rapidly, and the dissemination of information even more rapidly. In order to best serve our users, we need spaces that meet modern needs.
A New Space for a Changing World
The Learning Commons: a new space that will connect students with campus experts in research, writing, speech, and digital media technology. Revamping our learning spaces will improve student success, retention, and graduation rates. Make no mistake, it’s not about new furniture. The Think Space Initiative is about creating a stimulating, supportive and collaborative environment that enhances student and faculty success.
Given today’s financial realities, appropriations from the Texas Legislature and revenue from the Permanent University Fund are likely to remain flat at best. The fact is, we can no longer rely solely on shrinking state support to fully fund the needs of our students, faculty, and researchers.
Your support and involvement are crucial.
