About

Hello and welcome!  I’m so happy to have you!
I’m Tanya and I am the cook, baker, cocktail shaker and picture taker behind Lemons for Lulu.  I am a self taught cook with an intense love of food.
That love of food is the whole reason I started this blog back in 2012.  I spent my days experimenting with food and recipes; I wanted to share my experiences just in case someone else could benefit from my trial and errors.
Over time, this blog transformed into a space where people came to share their love of food.  I have developed a passion for making food look beautiful as my lens attempts to capture the colors and textures of the food I share.
Angel food cake is dipped in tequila and fried just until golden; a sweet twist on tequila shots!
During the lifespan of this blog, I have been fortunate to have my work shared on brand websites and publications such as Country Living, Redbook, Fitness Magazine, and Parade.
My hope is that Lemons for Lulu demonstrates that the recipes we grew up with can be remade simply and boldly with no-fuss ingredients and basic techniques that never compromise flavor.  Our lives center around food whether we are cooking to pack lunches, put food on the family dinner table, celebrate a special occassion or entertaining friends.
We share our love through food.
In 2012 I published “Sandwiched, Eat Em, Toast Em, Stuff Em, Grill Em”.   Why a sandwich book?  Because who doesn’t love a good sandwich?  If you can make yourself a good sandwich, then I am confident you can cook anything.  Besides, we are all tired of peanut butter and jelly!

One of my favorite things is curling up with a new cookbook.  I hope you think of this blog as your cookbook; a place where you can feast on pictures and bookmark recipes to try.  Each post on Lemons for Lulu is a piece of me.  It comes from my head and my heart and I am so grateful to share it with you.
