If this is your first time visiting us, let’s start by telling you a little more about us. We’re Kent and Carrie, a husband and wife team based in West Michigan where we share our home with our two young children and a mutt named Scruffy. We work with a talented Creative Team to bring you great ideas for the home 2-5 times a week. We’re not experts, by any means, but we want Kenarry: Ideas for the Home to be a trusted resource for you, where you’ll see big, bright instructional photos and learn what worked well for us, what didn’t work well and what we’d do differently next time.
Some of our favorite and most popular stories include how to make a burlap wreath with two different colored ribbons, a collection of rose petal crafts, tips for removing a highlighter stain from fabric, suggestions for how to organize toys, tips for what to pack in your carry-on luggage when you fly with small children and lots of fun food ideas. Meet Carrie
Carrie is the chief writer, crafter, cook and social media manager at Kenarry: Ideas for the Home. She’s an optimist by nature and enjoys sharing recipes, trying new craft ideas, planning for parties and events as well as organizing and decorating our home. When she’s not blogging, preparing meals or picking up around the house, you’re bound to find her hidden away in a castle under the stairs reading to the kids.
Carrie’s other passion is volunteerism and connecting people with opportunities to make a difference in their community. She’s one of the founders and organizers of an annual Women’s Service Day event. She also spent many years as the director of a short-term missions program for teens serving throughout the US, Canada and abroad.
Meet Kent
Kent is responsible for a lot of the behind-the-scenes work on Kenarry: Ideas for the Home including editing stories, acting as a sounding board and providing technical support. Kent also writes occasionally, usually about technology, home improvement or organization.
By day, Kent is a design engineer and manager for an automotive supplier. In his spare time, he loves researching new tech toys, fishing at our cottage and watching the Seahawks win.
Meet Our Family
Together we parent two active boys who we affectionately refer to as C1 and C2 on Kenarry: Ideas for the Home. C1 is a precocious six year old first grader who loves books, peanut butter and jelly, family movie night and our local library. C2 is a fun-loving three year old who loves exploring and dumping toys out of baskets. He’s always on the move. They keep us busy chasing after them, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
