Seeing Lisa with Milhouse reminds Bart that he was never able to keep a girlfriend and, after four of his exes have rejected him persuades the family to go to New York, where he tracks down his old flame Mary Spuckler. However Mary's father Cletus comes to take her home against her wishes and Bart, happy that Mary seems to truly care for him, helps her escape. Meanwhile Marge and Lisa stage their own version of 'Romeo and Juliet' at an out-door theatre when the actors go on strike. Written by don @ minifie-1
Moonshine River is a great Simpsons episode with a lot of very funny scenes, most of them coming from Homer in this episode and also a lot of laughs from Cletus's scenes. The Simpsons twenty-fourth season starts off strong,I really enjoyed the return of Bart's old girlfriends, even if they were only brief cameos,Gina (Sarah Michelle Gellar) from Wandering Juvie,Jenny (Anne Hathaway) from The Good,The Sad And The Drugly,Darcy (Natalie Portman) from Little Big Girl all make brief cameos, and Mary Spuckler (Zooey Deschanel) from Apocalypse Cow has a main role in this episode. The episode is lots of fun and laughs from start to finish and starts off the new season very well.
Bart looks back over all his past girlfriends to find out how he failed with all of them, the only successful relationship he had was with Mary Spuckler,so he decides to go to New York and win her back.
