			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The majority of Igalia's employees work remotely, so it is also nice to have a shared space to call “home”.  Our office has served as the focal point for many events during the past 10 years.  Igalia has hosted several hackfests (<a href="https://webengineshackfest.org/" title="Web Engines Hackfest URL" target="_top" class="external-link" >Web Engines</a>, <a href="https://wiki.gnome.org/Hackfests/GTK2010" title="GTK Hackfest URL" target="_top" class="external-link" >GTK</a>, <a href="https://wiki.gnome.org/Hackfests/GstSpringHackfest2017" title="GStreamer hackfest URL" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >GStreamer</a>, <a href="https://afaikblog.wordpress.com/2012/07/27/report-a-coruna-ux-hackfest/" title="UX Hackfest URL" target="_top" class="external-link-new-window" >UX</a> and <a href="https://www.igalia.com/nc/igalia-247/news/item/igalia-hosts-its-second-accessibility-hackfest/" title="Accessibility hackfest URL" target="_top" class="external-link" >Accessibility</a>) an <a href="https://wiki.automotivelinux.org/agl-distro/may2019-f2f" title="AGL F2F meeting URL" target="_blank" class="external-link" >AGL face‒to‒face meeting</a>, client meetings and a WebAssembly face‒to‒face (June 2019) just to name a few, and we look forward to hosting more in the future. </p>
<p>If you have an opportunity to visit our office you will be in for a treat.  In addition to being very spacious and versatile, our office is located in the beautiful, treasure-filled city of A Coruña. Here’s to the next 10 years!   </p>

			<title>The 25th Biannual Igalia Summit Will Take Place in May!</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Igalia employees are based in 20 different countries.  Given our geographic distribution, an important part of Igalia's company strategy and culture is to meet twice a year to take part in face‒to‒face meetings, code camps, team building and recreational activities. In May we will meet for a weekend to celebrate our 25th biannual summit in Sanxenxo, a seaside town in Galicia. </p>
<p>We are looking forward to meeting up there as Sanxenxo will surely provide the atmosphere for a memorable and meaningful gathering.</p>]]></content:encoded>

			<title>Igalia’s 2019 Coding Experience</title>

			<description>Igalia is looking for candidates for its 2019 Coding Experience Program</description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Coding Experience is a <b>grant program</b> which gives students with a background in Computer Science and Information Technology first-hand <b>coding experience</b> in a professional <b>open source</b> environment. In addition to gaining real-world experience, they are paired with an Igalia programmer to mentor them during the program. </p>
<p> 2019 Coding experiences will be focused on the following areas: Implementation of web standards, WebKit, Chromium, Compilers, Multimedia and GStreamer, and Open-source graphics stack. </p>
<p> One of the <b>core principles</b> of Igalia is <b>equality</b>. We welcome applicants regardless of their age, disability, gender, race, marital status, religion, sexual orientation or whatever type of systemic discrimination that they have faced. </p>
<p> Participants will be selected for The Coding Experience twice a year, in June and in November. They will be able to work remotely or from one of our offices if they live nearby. 			<title>May 2019 Events</title>

			<description>Upcoming Events for Igalia</description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> Cephalocon 2019 will take place on May 19-20 in Barcelona, Spain. Javier Muñoz of Igalia will attend and on Monday, May 20 he will present a talk: Keeping up a Competitive Ceph/RadosGW S3 API.  His talk will take place from from 16:20 - 17:00.  Please see <a href="https://ceph.com/cephalocon/barcelona-2019/cephalocon-2019-barcelona-schedule/" title="Link to schedule" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >the agenda</a>&nbsp;for more information. </p>
<p>Igalians will attend <a href="https://2019.cssconf.eu/" title="Link to CSS Conf" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >CSS Conference</a> in Berlin, Germany, May 31.  While there, Igalian, Manuel Rego, will present a talk on Improving Website Performance with CSS Containment. We hope to see you there. </p>
<p>Igalians will join other developers at both the <a href="https://2019.jsconf.eu/" title="JSConf link" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >JSConf</a>&nbsp;and Node.js summit, June 1-2, Berlin, Germany.  They will share knowledge about GraphQL, DevOps, Machine Learning, Accessibility, New and upcoming JavaScript features, and more. <a href="https://www.igalia.com/nc/igalia-247/igalian/item/qzhang/" title="Joyee's profile" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >Joyee Cheung</a>&nbsp;of Igalia will lead two talks.  At the JS conference she will give talk &quot;<a href="https://2019.jsconf.eu/joyee-cheung/web-apis-in-node-js-core-past-present-and-future.html" title="Link to agenda" target="https://2019.jsconf.eu/joyee-cheung/web-apis-in-node-js-core-past-present-and-future.html" class="external-link-new-window" >Web APIs in Node.js Core: Past, Present, and Future</a>&quot;. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Igalia will be hosting a face to face meeting for the Automotive Grade Linux, AGL at the Igalia office in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain.</p>
<p>AGL is an industry effort dedicated to building an open software platform for automotive applications. The main purpose of this meeting is to work on the Audio, Window Manager, Home Screen, Graphics, UI, and App Framework architecture discussions and have a blueprint for completing the work in 2019. </p>

			<title>April 2019 Events</title>

			<description>Igalians are on the move in April!</description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Igalia will be represented at several events in the upcoming months. </p>
<p>  First, we are off to Germany where we will attend the <a href="https://www.aircraftinteriorsexpo.com/" title="Aircraft Interiors Expo" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >Aircraft Interiors Expo</a> (April 2-4).  Next, Igalia will be present, and a <b>sponsor</b> at the <a href="https://events.linuxfoundation.org/events/open-networking-summit-europe-2018/" title="Open Networking Summit 2019" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" >Open Networking Summit</a> in San Jose (Apr 2-5) where we will highlight our work around <a href="https://www.igalia.com/networking/" title="Networking team at Igalia" target="_top" class="external-link-new-window" >Snabb</a> and VPP.  April 6-11, we will travel to Las Vegas to attend the<a href="https://www.nabshow.com/" title="NAB Show website" target="_blank" class="external-link-new-window" > NAB show</a>. </p>
<p>   April 9-10 we are excited to have <b>15 of our members participate</b> in BlinkOn in Ontario, Canada.  Igalia is part of a growing Chromium/Blink committers group who are actively working in the project. We are looking forward to taking the time to collaborate with other contributors for the continued success of the project. </p>
<p>  Last but not least, members of the W3C's Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Working Group will meet in San Francisco, California from 30 April to 2 May 2019. The purpose of this meeting is to make significant progress on the tasks needed to complete the ARIA 1.2 suite of documents. Igalia has been an active part of the working group where we also <b>participate as a co-chair</b>. 			<title>MathML Project Launch</title>

			<description>Igalia has begun implementing MathML</description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After receiving the support of NISO, who received a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, we are excited to announce that in January 2019 Igalia began the development for the implementation of MathML in Chromium.  The early efforts of this project are going well with Google reiterating their support of the project and the launch of a MathML Refresh W3C group who will tackle specification issues. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Eleven&nbsp;Igalians attended FOSDEM this year. The weekend was exciting as it was full of exploring technologies and projects within the free/open source world.  There were in depth discussions around projects Igalia is working on, networking with both old and new colleagues and exploring new opportunities for Igalia. The event hosted numerous talks and events but a few Igalian favorites are: learning about FreeBSD being used inside Netflix, the talk around whether anyone can live in full Software Freedom today and Wayland in IVI systems?  Of course there were three talks by our own members as well.</p>

<p> This year Igalia will send 11 members of our team to meet, share ideas and collaborate at FOSDEM. FOSDEM is the biggest free and open source software conference in Europe. </p>
<p> Igalians will be at the event representing our graphics, networking and browsers teams. If you are interested in chatting about these topics, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. </p>

<p> Igalia will be in Barcelona at MWC19, formerly <b>Mobile World Congress</b>, the largest gathering of the mobile industry in the world. </p>
<p> Igalia will be present at Hall Congress Square Stand CS30, to showcase our work in WPE WebKit and Chromium.</p>

<h4><b> ISE 2019, February 5-8, 2019, Amsterdam&nbsp;</b></h4>
