HITS Computing Founder]]><![CDATA[Changes to our prices]]>Wed, 31 May 2017 23:00:00 GMThttp://www.hitscomputing.com/news/changes-to-our-pricesFrom 1st June 2017, our pay as you go pricing will be changing to the following:
Face to face session - from £40.00 per hour 
A face to face session is where a HITS Computing technician will meet the customer at an arranged time and location. 

Remote session - from £25.00 per hour
A remote session is where a HITS Computing technician will remotely control the customers computer/device at an arranged time. Alternatively, we can speak to you on the telephone or Skype in order to give you the required technical support. 

​Apple products - from £60.00 per hour
Due to their specialised nature, we do charge higher fees for Apple products.

Out of hours support - from £50.00 per hour
For out of hours support, please call 0800 011 9663. This is provided on a best effort basis and will depend on availability of technicians. 

No fix - no fee guarantee
If the engineer does not possess the necessary technical knowledge or ability to resolve the problem or complete the repair, then no charge is made, however a £10 charge may be applied to cover engineers’s expenses.

Web Design
We are more than happy to assist in the creation, hosting and maintenance of websites. Please contact us to let us know of your requirements and we will provide you with a quotation. 

Email Hosting
We offer multiple email plans. Our most common plan is on Office 365 where we can manage the setup, maintenance and support so that you can focus on your business. Please contact us to let us know of your requirements and we can provide you with a quotation. 

Cancellations
If you cancel an appointment with more than 24 hours advanced notice, there is no charge. A cancellation fee will normally be payable if you need to cancel within 24 hours of the appointment time.

Payment Methods
We generally send the invoice the same day as the appointment. We accept cash, cheque, credit card, debit card, bank transfers and PayPal payments.

Minimum charge per appointment is for 1 hour.

We are excited to be dealing with new customers and look forward to an exciting future.

For all existing customers in other locations, we will still be happy to help you with any technical problem. 

Our VIP Club will re-open for new members by the end of June 2017 and will be accepting customers in London for the first time.

Founder and Managing Director]]><![CDATA['Wannacry' RANSOMWARE attack]]>Sat, 13 May 2017 13:00:00 GMThttp://www.hitscomputing.com/news/wannacry-ransomware-attackSince Friday, all of the media has been talking about WannaCry ransonware. We are very happy that none of our customers has reported being a victim of this attack.

This particular virus has reached tens of thousands of organisations in 99 countries. The malicious software encrypts (locks) data and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore the files. ​​You do not need to pay the money to get rid of the virus. 

A 22 year old man has found a 'kill switch' which has resolved the problem for the vast majority of users. Anti-virus software can also remove the virus. 

As usual, we recommend that everyone takes regular backups, installs all Windows Updates and has up-to-date. Should anyone require our assistance, please feel free to contact us.
