Islam is a monotheistic faith claiming part of the Abrahamic tradition and the religion with the second most adherents in the world. Its roots can be traced to the early-mid-seventh century when Muslims claim Muhammad received revelation from God in the form of the Qur'an. Under the Library of Congress Classification system Islam as a religion inhabits part of the subclass BP although related texts are spread in many classes.
