Position opening: Sulam is in search of an Instructional Assistant(IA) for the Lower School. A Sulam IA is a person who is passionate about children and helping them succeed at school socially, emotionally and academically. Often our IAs are pursuing college degrees in a related field of special education and want to work and learn at the same time. If you or anyone you know, wants to become a part of an expert team that supports students, and one another, to help children meet their goals please contact office@sulam.org right away. I love Sulam because it is run by highly competent people who have both the heart and brains for rea...l inclusion of children with disabilities inside Jewish education. Over the years, due to hard work and brilliance, Sulam enhanced their great capacity to serve children of all abilities. They are a national model. They are enabling kids with disabilities to go to Jewish day school. Indeed, their best practices are helping Jewish schools all around the region and country. عرض المزيد

The day that I put my daughter in Sulam in the middle of 3rd grade felt like the worst day of my lif...e. There was no longer any denying that my Gavi was not just falling behind but becoming isolated and lost. Her language disability frustrated her and interfered with every relationship she had. I was certain that she would never be independent and prayed that she would just be happy. Sulam understood her academically, emotionally and socially. They emphasized her strengths and gave her skills to overcome her weaknesses. To her credit, Gavi is a very hard worker and a determined young lady. After 5 years in Sulam, Gavi entered one of the most rigorous schools in Maryland and excelled. She took AP classes, performed on stage regularly and made life long friends. Two days ago she graduated with honors from a blue ribbon high school and in the fall will be entering her dream college, the University of Delaware.
