Hillel York is aware of the protest planned this evening on campus in response to Herut Canada speakers' event. We are monitoring the situation closely and are ...in direct communication with York security and the university administration. Our main priority is to ensure the safety of all students through our consultations with relevant campus partners. We advise all students to avoid Vari Hall this evening. The Hillel Lounge will be open tonight until 8pm for students. Please get in contact with Hillel York staff if you need to for any reason. We are here to support you.

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. On this day, we honor the men and women who fallen serving our country. We owe it to the brave men and women by observing two minutes of silence at 11:00 a.m., the same time that World War I hostilities ended. On this day, we also wear poppies as a symbol of the sacrifices that were made during the war. Lest We Forget #RemembranceDay

"One of the sites that I visited on my 2015 Israel trip was Ammunition Hill on the outskirts of Jerusalem. The IDF had to capture this hill in order to take back East Jerusalem from Jordan during the Six Day War. This was the first time I had ever been in a trench, and despite them being relatively deep, they were very tight, so everyone had a hard time maneuvering through. But if the IDF's infantry could do it with umteen pounds of gear on, why couldn't we?
