When Rabbi Simon called me and said: "Brother... I have a favor…." The first words out of my mouth were Naaseh V' Nishmah. Why? Who does more for our community and (literally) gives of themselves than the Simons. Why? Because they really want to make the world, and specifically our community a better place. Let me explain what Lubavitch of Bergen County does......
Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County serves thousands of families by providing educational programs for all ages and all backgrounds, hospital and nursing home visitations, crisis counseling, inspiration, festive holiday gatherings, the Friendship Circle, a special needs Hebrew school, public high school programs, and so much more in an incredibly warm and welcoming environment regardless of background or religious affiliation. (There really is no judgement—just a love for people and kindness—it’s really amazing.) At Chabad of Teaneck, every human is a member.
Rabbi Simon, who heads Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County, must raise all funds for the budget by himself. He receives no financial help from Chabad—something most of us don’t realize. He is the most incredibly modest, kind, thoughtful, wise, generous, and caring person we know, other than his amazing wife, Nechamy. Rabbi Simon even donated a kidney and part of his liver to complete strangers because he cared about another life (and he has 9 kids!) That’s the kind of person he is.
It would mean so much to us if you could join us on Sunday, March 31st, for the dinner. Your presence is important and anything you can do for Chabad of Teaneck/Friends of Lubavitch of Bergen County is greatly appreciated. The dinner is incredibly inspirational, and we just want to share this incredible organization with you. We are sure that you will leave the dinner, wanting to connect further with the Simons and Chabad.
Let's make this campaign the most successful ever! Please consider making a meaningful donation to Chabad and their mission to better our community while looking out for the individual - not an easy task! I look forward to seeing you on March 31st!
