100,000 years ago, we weren't alone in the world. Two other human groups were picking berries alongside us. Neanderthals...and Denisovans They went extinct about 50,000 years ago and left almost no clue as to what they looked like.

Until, that is, #HebrewU Life Sciences Prof. Liran Carmel did some high tech analysis of DNA found from three Denisovan teeth and a pinky bone and was able to piece it all together. It's the cover story of Cell Press. Credit: Maayan Harel.

It's not everyday that #HebrewU gets a call from the Vatican.

They invited our Latin America Studies students to meet with youngsters from Argentina's Padre Mugica slums. The goal? To expand horizons on both sides, and come up with *new* solutions for Latin America's poverty crisis.
