Today, 2 August, was the inaugural meeting of the Council for Women and Families United by Defence Service. This Council will provide women and families a greater voice in the discussion of veteran support and services.
It was also the perfect setting for us to release our new series of booklets in partnership with Phoenix Australia, which aims to provide information to support families of serving, transitioning, or ex-serving members of the ADF who are experiencing mental health concerns following trauma. These booklets are part of AT-Ease’s online resources, and are available here: https://at-ease.dva.gov.au/re…/coping-trauma-military-family
Thank you to the health professionals who attended and provided feedback at our Treatment Cycle consultation workshop today. We are listening and engaging with the health professionals who deliver health care to our veteran community about the need for more support to accompany the changes to allied health treatment. We will continue to communicate about the new referral arrangements prior to the 1 October 2019 commencement.
