Meet Alejandro, our endangered Florida Manatee Calf. So soft and cuddly you won't want to put it away!

Completely hand stitched, no machine used, he has no small parts attached or glued. Made with an eco-felt of 100% recycled plastic bottles, stuffed with organic US cotton, and hand sewn with a vintage cotton thread, this Baby will delight both children and adults.

SIZE: Alex is about 3" tall and 7" long

HERE'S HIS STORY
=====+=====+=====+=====+=====+=====
Alejandro—his buddies call him Alex—is a cuddly Florida Manatee pup.

Born in the warm waters of the Keys, his mom disappeared one day. He had heard stories from the elders of how his kind are often hit by boats, and guessing that might have happened to mama, Alex went looking for her.

On his journey, he saw colorful spiky corals surrounded by weird waving anemones, and passed by large, dark grass beds with the tastier kelp he'd ever had. His mouth still waters every time he remembers…

But Alex knew there was not a minute to lose: if injured, mama needed help pronto! He wandered for days traveling up north, he guessed, closer to the coast where boats are. The water was getting colder. He felt lost, and with a pang of fear, uttered a moan.

Wait! Is that a pup?

The ranger in patrol from the nearby sanctuary asked out loud squinting, surprised to find a calf so far from their natural breeding ground. Not without effort, he coaxed the babe into the protected open pool.

Alejandro and Antonio and now best friends—Tonio even lets Alex to wear his shinny badge! (*ONLY* when nobody's around.) They love to swim together, and can sunbathe for hours while eating seaweed crackers. Their favorite!

But he still dreams of coming back someday to the warm waters where he hopes to find his mama.
