My name is Kimberly Wlassak. I am a mixed media artist with a taste for surreal, anthropomorphic animal art and a passion for vintage photos. It has been my dream since I was a wee girl to write and illustrate books for children (or children at heart).

In Gerushia's World, you will find an array of fairy tale characters...all connected and intertwined. I write short stories for all of my art pieces, some are sold along with my art in the shop section entitled: "Tiny Tale Art."
Every character in my body of work has a place in the middle grade fairy tale I'm writing called "Gerushia's New World." Maybe I'll try to publish the story....someday. Or...maybe not.

Kim made this beautiful, custom watercolor as a gift for my aunt. It turned out so great and looks even better in person! Kim was so wonderful to work with and I would definitely recommend her for a custom piece! I sent her a few pictures of three cats that I wanted portrayed in the painting and she was able to capture them both whimsically and realistically. Really an awesome piece - couldn't be happier with the end-product!

A Natural Homebody Falls Into Selling Online!
I actually started selling online years ago. I am a homebody. I love working from my studio and dabbling in my garden. Because I prefer to be home, I grew tired of doing local art shows and hobnobbing at galleries. My Southern California location is fantastic for gallery opportunities, but I prefer to work from home and sell online through my blog and my shop. It all fell into place naturally.
I have a small home studio. I am blessed to have that. It is my little piece of escape. In my studio, I create small format art with paint, ink, chalk, scans of vintage photos from my own collection and photos that I take myself. My daughter often models for me!
I love what I do and am so happy to be able to create from home and sell on Etsy.
