So today, I thought I would share a list of fun things for your kids to do, and for you to do with your kids between Christmas and New Years, once the holiday crazy calms down.

To get my manifesto started: I love tiny houses with all my heart because, above all, they are a symbol of change.
The tiny house movement is a symbol of moving towards a more sustainable way of life in the wake of the McMansion era of old. It isn’t just smug hipsters moving into tiny houses, it’s everyday people who simply want to live with less. In America, the vehement reaction to the tiny house is to be expected, as Americans love the cleverness of their design and their roguish mission, but at the same time balk at the idea of having less stuff. Of all the editorials against tiny houses, the most common topic of their ire is the thought of tossing out most of their belongings.
However, those who attack the tiny house movement don't understand that the move to live in smaller dwellings is ultimately a good thing, and that their smug editorials do more harm than good to the cause of living more efficiently, with a smaller environmental footprint.
Even though holiday decorations are fun to shop for, the prices can add up quickly! Rather than purchase a sign or banner this year, I decided to make a simple accordion banner out of paper to display on my shelf for the Christmas season. Not only is it simple, but it’s very inexpensive to make and folds up for easy storage if you want to reuse it next year.
While wreaths are definitely popular front door decor during the holidays, they certainly can be decorated with year-round. And they certainly don't have be left to just the front door. This beautiful round woven wreath has me itching for the new year! It's the perfect statement piece to keep out all of 2017!
My love for donuts has infiltrated Christmas this year! My bare Christmas tree was in need of a new skirt, so I went ahead and made a DIY donut tree skirt out of felt, complete with colorful sprinkles. The best part...no sewing needed!
After 8 years of marriage, this is the first holiday season that we have a mantel to decorate. Before then, my heart would just ache every time December rolled around and I didn't have anything resembling a fireplace to display my most cherished holiday items. If you're in the same boat, why not try your hand at creating a faux fireplace like this one! It's totally temporary and totally fun!
I have a bit of open wall space in my office and have been searching for items I can buy or DIY to make things look complete. This speckled clock is a fun and colorful option that doesn't take long to create!
Can you believe how quickly December is flying by?! Before I knew it, Christmas cards started arriving in the mail and I realized I had nowhere to display them. In our small apartment, it can be difficult to find space, so I decided to utilize an existing frame on a table to make this DIY framed web card holder that would be easy to store away for next season or repurpose for other items.

So you needed about two feet of some sort of special ribbon for a particular project, but you now have several yards leftover. Or maybe it was a sewing or upholstery project, and you have one foot square of fabric leftover. What do you do? If you're like me, you keep it thinking that someday you'll find a use for it. Months pass. Maybe even years. And still, when you see that ribbon or fabric square, you think, someday. Why
