Rapport de la conférence "Accaparement des terres en Afrique francophone"
Du 21 au 23 novembre, à Abidjan, au centre CERAO, s’est tenue une conférence intitulée : Accaparement des terres en Afrique francophone : Identifier et promouvoir des solutions endogènes pour s’en sortir. Elle fait suite à une conférence organisée par la plateforme "Our land is our life" une collaboration entre des organisations de la société civile (OSC) et l’Eglise.

The IPA’s risks have been seriously underestimated and its benefits overstated, with dangerous implications for Myanmar’s peace efforts, human rights, and democratic development, according to the report Myths and risks of the EU-Myanmar Investment Protection Agreement (2).
President of the CCCB asks Prime Minister Trudeau for an ombudsperson for the Canadian extractives sector
On 9th August 2017, the President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops sent a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to express concern over the environmental degradation and human rights violations caused by Canadian extractive companies operating on Indigenous lands in Latin America.

New legislation on conflict minerals, a missed opportunity for the European Union
On Thursday, the European Parliament will vote on the law on the responsible sourcing of minerals, a regulation aimed at ensuring that revenues from minerals imported into the European Union do not finance infringements of Human Rights and armed conflicts around the world. Civil society organizations have already highlighted that the long-debated final text is less ambitious than the one initially proposed by the Parliament.
