Eight women from the outdoor track and field squad went to the NCAA Championship, where they garnered two All-American finishes. The men were represented by fourth-year Michael Bennett who finished 14th in the pole vault.
This year has been full of excitement for Chicago athletics, as ten of the 17 varsity teams made their respective NCAA Championships. The women contributed six of these berths while the men’s side chipped in four NCAA bids.
The Maroons sent eight women and one man to NCAA National Championships this year. While none of the competitors have yet earned, each has impressed with his or her performance.
Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams made the NCAA National Championships this year, ending their terrific seasons with respectable postseason showings.
