APLU INCLUDES is an NSF-backed initiative aimed at expanding the diversity of STEM faculty by increasing the number and percentage of underrepresented and traditionally underserved groups, consisting of women, members of minority racial and ethnic groups, persons with disabilities, and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Academic engagement is combined with real-world problem solving, leading to significant innovation and advancement.

The PLC serves as a coordinating body to foster cooperation and collaboration that will advance the use of information technology to improve learning, retention, and graduation. PLC membership positions universities to better capture the economies of scale inherent in information technology.

The Excellence in Assessment (EIA) program – the first national initiative of its kind – recognizes institutions that successfully integrate assessment practices across campus, provide evidence of student learning outcomes, and use assessment results to guide institutional decision-making and improve student performance.

The Project Degree Completion Award recognize universities that have made significant progress in successfully retaining and graduating students while promoting those schools as models for other institutions.

Since 2006, APLU and the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC), with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, have partnered to recognize the outstanding community-university engagement scholarship work of four-year public universities. The program recognizes colleges and universities that have redesigned their learning, discovery, and engagement missions to become even more involved with their communities.

The Student Achievement Measure (SAM) provides a comprehensive picture of student progress on their path to earning a college degree or certificate. As compared to the limitations of typical graduation rate measures, SAM reports more outcomes for more students.
