Chapter Spotlight: Hawai'iAPALA Hawaii hosted the National Executive Board Meeting in December, where officers and national staff strategized APALA’s work during the upcoming administration. Hawaii has a significant labor history and the largest density of AAPI unionized workers in the United States. While there, APALA Hawaii chapter leaders organized a labor history presentation and a Community & Labor Reception, which provided an opportunity for our board to understand firsthand the importance of the labor movement in Hawaii. We were also fortunate enough to participate in the Native Hawaiians & Mass Incarceration Roundtable with our partner the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement.
