Also, for women traveling abroad, the $25/month int’l data add-odd has kept me safe while traveling. Responsive mapping. WhatsApp for calling/messaging taxis where Lyft doesn’t exist. Checking into an Airbnb in the middle of the night when locked out. Now what?

Being out of country for 4 weeks means annoying (and expensive!) daily renewals of $5/day for 3G. That’s $145/month. I’m not a Canadian trying to scam T-Mobile. I don’t want to lose my current plan. There should be an option to buy up to a certain threshold of roaming gigs/year.

Small giving has few of elite giving's problems. But there are real questions about whether the things we rely on small giving to fund should be funded that way. Giving to teacher campaigns is noble, but why do we make the social choice to fund education that way?

As you decide whom to give to today, apply the following test, adapted from Archbishop Desmond Tutu: Is this gift making the chains of the powerless more comfortable, or breaking the chains? Give to foster solutions that are public, democratic, institutional, and universal.
