    Pompeo praises religious liberty in Israel while noting how difficult it is for Christians in other parts of the Middle East: "just one example: before 2003, there were an estimated 1.5 million Christians living in Iraq. Today, sadly, almost a quarter of a million."

    It is deeply upsetting, this and other ways Israel has associated Jewish practice with oppression.

    When my wife first moved to the Washington DC area from Palestine, a Jewish colleague asked her is she’s heard of passover. She responded that we are always made well aware of such holidays because that is when we’re not allowed to move around.
