    NY Times "explainer" of what just happened in Israel and Gaza does not mention that Hamas is a US & EU-designated terrorist group committed to Israel's destruction, nor the # of rockets (~500) they just fired at Israeli civilians. That's not actually telling people what happened.

    The FBI just released its annual hate crimes statistics. Jews were the target of 60% of anti-religious hate crimes, despite constituting just 2% of the U.S. population. This continues a longstanding trend of Jews being the most targeted group every year.

    The murder of Muhammad Abu Atzeva, a Palestinian worker from Halhul who worked with permits and only wanted to make a living, is a tangible fact that Hamas terrorism is the enemy of everyone. It does not distinguish between Israelis and Palestinians.

    Miriam Adelson and her husband gave $143 million to charity just in 2013. That's a lot of "nothing."

    Some thoughts on giving Miriam Adelson, who has done nothing for her country besides being the wife of a Trump-friendly megadonor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Of course it's ludicrous, and an insult to people who received the medal for genuine service. But ... 1/

    You know what, though? It's up to everyone of us who cares about things like historical truth and basic human decency to read up on this stuff. As the survivors begin to pass on, we need people speaking out against attempts to smear or muddy the horrors they went through. /FIN

    I'm sorry but didn't "criticize the Israeli government." She said "Israel has hypnotized the world" which plays into anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jews exerting supernatural control. She crossed the line and weakened the Palestinian cause by introducing ugly language.

    I have no doubt that 's sentiments are well placed, and it's painful to agree with Mort about anything at this point, but the math is on his side. The Disengagement cost lives: Jewish and Arab, soldier and civilian.

    Apparently, Mort thinks it would be safer for Jews if there were still settlements inside of Gaza, and Israeli soldiers forced to risk their lives to protect them. Personally, I want to save lives.

    When a terrorist organization on your border launches 300 rockets at your civilian population, you have to respond. You are justified to respond. Wishing the people of southern Israel and Gaza a quiet night, with no Hamas rocket launches and no need to respond.

    *Hard to believe* someone who tweeted that "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel" supports BDS. She's a liar, an anti-Semite and a disgrace. Yet she is celebrated in countless mainstream media outlets.

    In a primary debate at a local synagogue, Ilhan Omar said that BDS "wasn't helpful" in getting a two-state solution. Now her office says that she does in fact support BDS:
