    I started writing what I WANTED to write at 54. Began with picture books. They sucked hard core. Found my YA voice at 56. Got an agent when I was 59. (It was HARD.) My debut comes out in 2020. I'll be 62. There is NO age limit to your dreams. Write on, lovely writers. Write on.

    It happened again. Trump insulted the press, egging on the frenzied crowd, and someone took it as license to assault a cameraman. Journalists take risks to cover the news every day. They shouldn't have to risk their safety to cover the President of the United States of America.

    I count streets in "blocks" and taught my kids to play "stoop ball." We saw [Broadway] shows in "the city." My apartment was in "the Village." West 4th between 6th and McDougal "off the Park." If you're a NYer, you know which park.

    The community of has raised $56.3 million to support local schools, synagogues, programs for the elderly, the poor, youth-at-risk in Canada and Israel. Instead of accusing Jews of running the world, try emulating their incredible generosity.

    Last night a sold out crowd helped wrap up what’s been an incredible annual campaign. Thanks to our generous donors we have raised $56.3m so far this yr on our way to a projected $60m. Truly amazing! And so was “The Accountant of Auschwitz” our closing night documentary!

    Reminder: Jews are a tiny minority of the population, most of us are liberal Democrats, and the fact that disingenuous white Republicans are crying crocodile tears over us is not actually our fault or a reason to discount our objections to antisemitism.

    Reminder: The vast majority of folks going after Ilhan Omar are anti-Muslim, anti-Black, and anti-Palestinian

    I am deeply sympathetic to the idea that Freshman Members of Congress deserve the chance to atone for early mistakes. That said, I know of several people who privately and publicly have attempted to discuss repeated use of anti-Semitic tropes with Rep Omar, all were rebuffed.
