    Sorrowfully we mourn the loss of a dear friend . The first Australian PM to visit Israel and a great Australian! I had the privilege of accompanying him on his trip already as a Cadet in 1987, and learnt to value his leadership and friendship 🇮🇱🇦🇺

    Bob Hawke was a great Australian who led and served our country with passion, courage, and an intellectual horsepower that made our country stronger. He was true to his beliefs in the Labor tradition and defined the politics of his generation and beyond.

    Australians are mourning the loss of a great Australian, the 23rd Prime Minister of Australia, Bob Hawke, who sadly passed away today, aged 89. Prime Minister Hawke visited Israel in 1987 and is shown here with former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir.
