I apologise for taking your time, please answer my question. I want to translate in offline, but I don't know how to be an offline translator. I want to know how to be an offline translator. I'll appreciate it if you would answer my question.
Translating:Offline has the answer.
This URL makes me confusing due to so-called "Following parameters are not used: %2", where Procedure (computer science) is redirected to Subroutine, could we change it to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subroutine ?
the Blockly project can be visited on https://developers.google.cn/blockly/ in China.
Hey, but that's already available, although there's a problem that about Blockly:PROCEDURES_CALLRETURN_HELPURL/zh-hans which cannot be safely updated.
Please change my user name into "wmr", please.
In cases where a date/time parameter $1 is used, alternative date $2 and time $3 parameters may be given in message documentation suggesting that these two parameters can be used instead of the combined one, in languages that need to split date and time, such as Greek.
But editor doesn't seem to recognise that $2 and $3 together are legitimate substitutes of $1, leading to an edit warning and a fuzzybot edit.

I wrote a discussion page on this support to enable the bodo language in transwiki.net because it's now disabled by transwiki. I want translate massages in Bodo language to create create the new Bodo Wikipedia. Bodo wikipedia is already eligible in incubator request page. Bodo wikipedia will be created after translating massagese, so iam here to translate massages but bodo langiage is disabled. But why, anyway please someone resolve the problem for bodo language in translatewiki and enable the language to translate.
So:
- A language code from ISO 639-3 or the Ethnologue website: brx
- The language name in English and in its own language: Bodo – बर' (brx)
- Is the language RTL or LTR: LTR
- If the language is commonly written in more than one script, please say in which script the language should be enabled. Other variants can be enabled as and when translators for those variants volunteer. In Devanagari.
- (For MediaWiki) Should the language fall back to another language other than English? If so which? No need.
You may need to answer the 4th and 5th questions
Language uses Devanagari script. So, language must enabled in devanagi script , if you don't believe then go to the incubator project of bodo wikipedia. If you have another important question then ask.
Thanks. Devanagari is ok. Are people who know Bodo also likely to understand Assamese? (Assamese is the official language of the state where Bodo is most spoken according to w:Bodo language and w:Assam?)
Assamese is the official language of Assam and Both Bengali and Bodo are co-official. Bengali is most spoken in barak valley and Bodo is most spoken in four districts of Assam, which is called as BTC, Bodoland, BTAD. Bodoland is autonomous counci. So, Bodo is Official language of Bodoland and many bodo people knows Assamese , Bengali .But, What is problem in official, why you're talking about Assamese?
Is anybody working on this issue ?
The only thing that you can do, after providing the necessary informations, is wait, your request is not only one pending new language request.
AFAIW, there are also:
- Sylheti (syl);
- Saraiki (skr);
- Kalenjin (kln);
- Tunica (tun);
- Kaikavian (kjv);
- Persian in Latin script (fa-latn);
- Ho (hoc);
- Atikamekw (atj) and Southern East Cree (crj);
- Javanese in Javanese script (jv-java);
- Northern Thai (nod);
- Bengali in India (bn-in);
- Hakka in both Hans (hak-hans) and Hant (hak-hant) scripts;
- Spanish in Nicaragua (es-ni);
- Thread:Support/Please_support_"Traditional_Mongolian_Script" – I'm confused with this request, is this Mongolian in Mongolian script (mn-mong)? Or Inner Mongolian (mvf)?
- Occitan Nissart (oc-ni)?;
- Ladino in Hebrew (lad-hebr).
So it's likely that you have to wait for half years to 3 years.
Wow I don't miss LiquidThreads :)
MediaWiki:Editinguser/tyv is an outdated copy of the English string. Could a sysop please just delete it? We don't appear to have active translators in this language.
It's appearing in the tyv.json file in MediaWiki, which isn't normal for fuzzy messages, as far as I am aware.
Wondering if @Agilight: can help on it?
Why language is not yet enabled ?
MediaWiki:Globalusage/en should be split in two messages
This message is used in two places: as a section heading on a file description page (for example, see this) and as a page title in Special:GlobalUsage. In English, the text "Global file usage" is suitable for both places, but this does not happen in other languages, like in Portuguese. Each of the two Portuguese variants have chosen a version that is good for only one of those cases. The European Portuguese version (MediaWiki:Globalusage/pt) has "Utilização global de um ficheiro", which means "Global usage of a file", and is suitable only for the special page. The Brazilian Portuguese version (MediaWiki:Globalusage/pt-br) has "Uso global do arquivo", which means "Global usage of this file", and is suitable only for the section on the description page.
It would be good if there were two distinct messages: one for the heading on the file description page and one for the special page title.
Trying to Translate BlueSky but I can't find it. (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Skin:BlueSky)
Hi everyone!
I want to install [[[Bluesky]]https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Skin:BlueSky] on a new Wiki but it will be in Portuguese. I am trying to find the files to translate it but I can't locate them. Can someone please help find it?
Special:Translate/mediawiki-skin-bluesky. What's wrong with Portuguese?
What if I want to translate system messages from Gamepedia wikifamily? Some system messages not exist at Translate Wiki. Can I add this messages to Translate Wiki, or I need to add this as New Project? Or maybe best way is translate system message locally, for example I already translated System Messages at Terraria Wiki into Russian. But this messages displayed only in Russian Terraria Wiki. What if I want see translated messages in another wikis, for example in Minecraft Wiki. What I need to do?
Thanks for asking! I'd love supporting gamepedia wikis more. Some of these messages belong to MediaWiki core, hence just by translating at Special:Translate/core you will see your translations reach all Gamepedia wikis when they update.
Gamepedia is on 1.23, which was released one year ago: at this speed, you'd need to wait about one year for your translations to reach all wikis. However, you can ask the system administrators to install and run mw:Extension:LocalisationUpdate: as soon as they do that, all the translations you make here will spread to all the Gamepedia wikis. Translations you make on your own wiki are trapped there and can't be easily exported.
Additionally, I see Gamepedia has several custom extensions; I don't know whether you translated some of those too. To translate them efficiently, you should ask the Gamepedia developers to host their code in gerrit.wikimedia.org.
I will be speaking with our development team here at Gamepedia to see if we can move our repositories to MediaWiki's Gerrit system. Currently all the maintained extensions are hosted on GitHub.
Is it mean that in future all system messages can be translated this, at Translate Wiki, and this messages can be work with all websites of Gamepedia?
Alexia, any updates? If needed we can now sync with GitHub repositories as well (but you will need to give push permissions to @siebrand and @nikerabbit).
Alexia, any news?
I was successfully mobbed out by User:Metalhead64. As you're also deleting user accounts completely when they don't pass registration (as I noticed when my first attempt to register failed as metalhead declined it without giving any reason, my user account was just gone afterwards and I could register again using the same user name), please do so for this account. I already kicked myself out of the translator group. Thanks and have fun, at least all of you who don't translate to German.
I'm afraid, in any MediaWiki sites, delete an account is not (at least, at this moment) be possible, see discussion in phab:T34815.
Maybe, we should rename you as User:Vanished~something?
As can be seen here, my account was rejected and created afterwards (meaning it was completely deleted when it was rejected at first). I knew that MediaWiki doesn't allow this, but the fact that my account was deleted resulted in my impression that deletion is indeed possible (and as it seems it really is, but from your answer I take that this is not when the account was accepted once. Closing this issue is correct then, just leave it as it is.
Before taking drastic decisions, you should try to involve other translators in the discussion to see if you can find a solution. Please bring the matter up at portal talk:de focusing on how to improve translations rather than on people.
I tried to make constructive edits and got a message that I should stick to the rules of this wiki. It was not explained what exactly I did do wrong and my request to do so was ignored, but my edits were reverted. When making a new discussion at User_talk:metalhead64 I just got the answer "I don't like when new users mess around." (in German, last sentence of link and no constructive critics. I'll take this sentence of a 'crat and sysop on this wiki seriously. Nobody was interested in helping me to make my contributions better but I was subtly told to piss of. Thanks, I'll do so. Goodbye.
To say no more, other discussions on the talk page of this user also don't seem to be anyhow constructive. Answering questions like "How do you know what good translations are" with "The translation must satisfy me." isn't very helpful at all. I would have liked to help here, but I accept that translatewiki can not do without metalhead, as he is the one making most of the german translations and therefore take my right to go.
Hello. Can somebody guide me on how to insert new links on MediaWiki:Contribsub2? One example is: phab:T117366. Thanks.
On Project:Autoconfirmed_users it states that every new user on translatewiki is automatically an autoconfirmed user. As a new user even after being added to the "translator" group I can confirm this is not true. This means that either the page Project:Autoconfirmed_users is wrong or that MediaWiki is misconfigured. May somebody check this please?
You need to log in in order to create a quiz!
in in is obviously wrong
I cannot correct because the original page is blocked for updating
MediaWiki:Quizgame-login-text/
Actually, it's correct. wiktionary:log in, wiktionary:in order. Would you like to add a comma?
MwEmbedModules/TimedText messages are not supported by translatewiki! They are not in groups and not updated. (don't know whether rest submodules of MwEmbedModules works)
The group is missing some message documentation in its qqq files. The message documenation needs to be fixed/added first.
Yes, without documentation translation could be hard. Everyone can do that, if he/she is familiar with the extension.
The missing messages are:
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-layout-off/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-trx/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-no-subs/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-tad/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-meta/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-lrc/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-loading-text/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-lin/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-tik/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-cue/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-ar/qqq
Maybe some more information could be added to:
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-nb/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-sub/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-textcat-cc/qqq
- MediaWiki:mwe-timedtext-back-btn/qqq
But this documentation is usually added to git and than reimportet to translatewiki.net, so this needs repository access on gerrit.
