RBPC UPDATE

TiE Global celebrates the accomplishments at the 2022 Rice Business Plan Competition of two student teams from Germany mentored by TiE.

LIDROTEC, from RWTH Aachen, and Invitris, from Technical University of Munich, won 1st and 3rd prizes respectively.

Not just LIDROTEC and Invitris, TiE also provided mentoring in 2022 to EpiFresh, winner of the $25,000 Energy, Cleantech and Sustainability prize and an elevator pitch prize from Rice, and TransCrypts, winner of the $50,000 Owl Investment Prize and an elevator pitch prize.

“Lidrotec’s win in this year’s Rice Business Plan Competition was the culmination of a 12-year journey and a moment of real pride for me.” said Ashok Rao, past Chairman of TiE Global and the founder of this international feeder competition program along with Brad Burke, Managing Director of the Rice Alliance.“When Brad and I created this program, we had no idea as to the impact it could have. We have been thrilled to be part of this incredible competition, delivering high quality teams to Rice, from Universities in Europe and Asia” he continued. “Prior to this year 4 of our teams had made it the finals while obtaining over $10 million in investment from Goose Capital. And this year my dream has been realized, and finally a TiE Global team has won this prestigious competition.”

TiE YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS (TYE)

TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) is a global program dedicated to fostering future generations of industry leaders by teaching high school students the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur. TYE is an “Entrepreneurship Academy,” where student teams utilize modern skills andtools to build a concept using customer feedback, iteration, and lightweight business models.

This year’s finals are to be held on June 24th and 25th.

INDIA LEADERSHIP MEET 2022

In April 2022, many TiE Chapter Presidents from all over India and many of our other fellow trustees came together to determine how best to support the Government of India’s various initiatives to promote entrepreneurship.

The event was an opportunity for the TiE leadership to come together and understand what the TiE chapters are doing. The lineup included various guests from government bodies like the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, MeitY Startup Hub, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), to foster better cooperation in the startup Ecosystem driven by TiE.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON STARTUP INITIATIVES IN THE GOVERNMENT

These are people who are deeply involved in enabling ground level transformational changes. This helped in reviewing how government projects are adopted and how the chapters can help in greater adoption.

Insightful discussions and exchange of thoughts in two wonderful panel discussions involving key leaders from Government and industry.

TYE contributions were discussed by Madan Padaki and Santosh Huralikoppi. Subbu Pericherla and Santosh Huralikoppi made the audience aware of the growing TiE University program. Mahavir Sharma, Charter Member, TiE Rajasthan led the talk about TiE Angels. Kanika Radhakrishnan, Global Co-chair of TiE Women Entrepreneurs talked about the TiE Women program.

The event also saw the TiE’s BoT coming together and making the Presidents and EDs aware of Chapter Health, Governance, Member and Ecosystem Engagement, and TiE Endowment plans. The topics were led by Gita Dang, P.K. Gulati, Kiran Deshpande, and B J Arun. The members also heard Murali Bukkapatnam & Suresh Raju talking about the vision for TiE Global Summit 2022 which is to be held in Hyderabad in December 2022. Ravi Narayan gave the team insight on TiE Global GEC. The event concluded with the discussion of the upcoming digitization strategy by Vijay Menon, Executive Director of TiE Global.

It was such an engaging and stupendous event attended by EDs and Presidents from all over India. With the event being such a huge success the team is planning a similar meeting for all the US-based presidents and EDs as well.

CHAPTER FOCUS

Founded in year 2002, TiE Rajasthan has been awarded with the most coveted ‘Best TiE Chapter’ award this year besides winning the ‘Best Chapter Champion for TiE University’. The Chapter has won multiple awards by TiE Global in the past including the Most Improved Chapter in 2015, Best Leadership Transition in 2013, Most Effective Leadership Transition in 2009 and global wins in TYE program in 2015, 2019 and 2020. It is also the first TiE Chapter in Asia to have a TiE Global Chair.

In 2009, TiE Rajasthan responded to the global changes and created Rajasthan’s first angel network ‘Rajasthan Angel Innovators Network’ (RAIN). The learnings from RAIN have paved way to set up TiE India Angels (TIA), a pan India angel network by TiE.

In addition to active participation in all major initiatives of TiE Global viz TYE, TiE University, TiE Women, TiE Global Summit, TiE Retreat etc. the Chapter has hosted the TiE Global Retreat in Jaipur twice. Utilizing the opportunity to connect virtually with a wider network of students, the chapter for the first time has taken the TYE program to tier-2 and tier-3 cities in Rajasthan and that has increased visibility for TiE as well.

Three New Trustees Elected to the TiE Global Board; Dinesh Dhamija Appointed as Vice Chairman


SANTA CLARA, Calif.,

 ​The TiE Global Board of Trustees recently announced that Mahavir Pratap Sharma has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of TiE Global.

Jaipur-based entrepreneur and investor Mahavir Sharma was the Vice-Chairman of TiE Global in 2019. Additionally, he is also the Chairman of TiE India Angels, a pan-India angel group, launched last year. Sharma is also the founder and chairman of Rajasthan Angels (RAIN).

The TiE Global Board of Trustees also elected Dinesh Dhamija as its Vice-Chairman. London-based Dinesh Dhamija was the founder of the online travel platform E-bookers, which he sold in 2005. He is currently the Deputy Treasurer of the Liberal Democratic Party and was recently elected as a Member of the European Parliament representing the London constituency.

TiE Global Chair, Mahavir Sharma said his priority is to make TiE an organization that is of profound value to existing members but also to the future and younger startup community, by strengthening its existing outreach programs for school students (TYE), college students (TiE Univ), women entrepreneurs (TiE Women) and funding avenues (Global Angels)

The new board aims to work with the governments of various countries to increase cross-border investments in startups and offering greater networking and learning experiences for members. 

In addition, three new members have been elected to the Global Board of Trustees. Portland, Oregon-based Dr. Sharon Richardson Howell, Washington D.C.-based Smita Siddhanti, and Hyderabad, India-based Kali Prasad Gadiraju are the newly elected board members.

Dr. Sharon Howell is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Huntington Hill Ventures (HHV). Sharon has been the General Manager for Growth at cctv network system ZoomCare, a Portland, Oregon-based chain of health care clinics. ZoomCare was acquired by PeaceHealth in 2018, where she was appointed SVP of Strategy, Partnerships, and Affiliations. 

Dr. Smita Siddhanti is a seasoned entrepreneur in government consulting. She was the immediate past President of the DC chapter of TiE. After a successful career with such major consulting firms as Booz Allen Hamilton, she founded EnDyna Inc., which specializes in management and environmental consulting.

Kali Prasad Gadiraju is currently the Chairman of Shihon Advisors LLP. Till recently, Kali was Office Managing Partner of Ernst and Young in Hyderabad. He has also used to be leak repair in the best company in California, check out .

13 student teams representing TiE chapters from USA, Canada and Asia participated in the competition; winning prizes worth $50,000


SANTA CLARA, Calif.,

TiE Global hosted the 2nd edition of the TiE University Pitch Competition on September 12-13, 2020. Cash prizes of close to $14,000 and almost $40,000 worth of in-kind prizes were given out to the 13 finalists.

TiE Atlanta’s Aerodyme Technologies from Georgia Institute of Technology came in first, winning $5000. TiE Silicon Valley’s team Ambii from San Jose State University bagged the second prize, winning $3000; while TiE Toronto’s LSK Technologies, from the University of Toronto came in third, winning $2000.

The winning team, Aerodyme Technologies created a novel device that saves fuel costs for tractor-trailers by minimizing aerodynamic drag. Ambii,Youtube end screens which came in second, provides an in-store music streaming platform for retail outlets , cafes and restaurants without the hassles of licensing. Third prize winner, LSK Technologies, a medtech startup, created a diagnostic device for testing infectious diseases such as Covid-19 at the point of need .

Apart from the top three winners from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, prizes were announced in various other categories. The TiE Global Board of Trustees recently announced that Praveen Tailam had been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at TiE Global.

Boston-based investor and entrepreneur Praveen Tailam was the Vice-Chairman of TiE Global in 2018 and President of the TiE-Boston chapter from 2016-2018. Praveen was instrumental in promoting angel investing across the TiE ecosystem. Praveen co-manages multiple dental practices in New Hampshire and Maine and founded Redtail Consulting, a technology consulting business, in 2006.

B.J. Arun was elected as the Vice-Chairman. San Jose-based Arun was the President of TiE Silicon Valley from 2019-2020 and was the CEO of July Systems (acquired by Cisco in late 2018). He co-founded Librato (acquired by Solar Winds in January 2015) and was also the founder and CEO of California Digital, a market leader in the space of Linux-based High-Performance Computing.

Two women entrepreneurs win $25,000 and $10,000 as 2nd and 3rd prize

TiE Women, an initiative by TiE Global to empower women entrepreneurs, announced the pitch competition winners at an event held at Dubai Knowledge Park this month. The event was hosted by TiE Dubai. Shivani Gupta, co-founder Inochi Care from TiE Kolkata won the first prize of USD 100K.

In the past months, we’ve dealt with unprecedented changes and adopted new ways of life and work. Technological improvements have immensely helped the virtual lifestyle we’re getting accustomed to day-by-day. 

TiE community thrives on Networking and mentoring. During these times when in-person meetings are a thing of the past TiE Chapters across the world rapidly modified the approach to full-fledged virtual assistance for our entrepreneurial community. 

In the past 6 months, TiE Chapters have cumulatively hosted 500+ virtual events; 3100+ subject experts and speakers; helplines for entrepreneurs; with thousands of attendees (members and non-members). Here are some of the key highlights that we’ve managed to accomplish –

  1. Launch of the TiE Smart card, a TiE micro-website on your phone as an App for Charter Members; gives you the option to network with all CM’s across the globe without sharing emails or mobile numbers, let’s you do group chat on various topics of your interest, check out your chapter and global events, access to special deals, offers and sponsors all at one place and easily accessible. If you have not downloaded the same, please reach out to your chapter ED’s or admins, they will be able to help you with the same.
  2. Launched 10 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to connect with CMs from across the world, who have similar business interests. Current sectors covered- Alternate Funding, Education, Emerging Tech, Fintech, Gaming & Media, Healthcare, Hospitality & Tourism, Manufacturing, Social Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability.   3. Free membership access of the Opportunity Network (ON) till the end of 2020 for now – a network of 30,000 leaders and deals worth over $200 billion.   4. TiE Angels program, for a nominal fee for all CM’s, gives the option to co-invest with other fellow charter members who invest locally into startups in their geography.   6. TiE Global Summit (TGS) this year is also going virtual, we expect 20k plus attendees, the dates are 8th to 10th of Dec 2020. More information is in the TGS section.
  7. TiEcon Silicon Valley, which was organized virtually this year and saw a participation of about 8000 attendees.

TiE CM Retreat 2020

We hosted our first-ever virtual TiE charter member retreat in September. This year we invited International tennis player – Vijay Amritraj as the Guest speaker. This former tennis legend hails from Chennai and was the first Indian to turn fully professional. Later, he became a sports commentator and occasional actor and used his fame in a positive way to uplift the sport in India. He was the recipient of the Padma Shri, India’s 4th highest civilian honor, in 1983. In 2001, he was appointed a United Nations ambassador for peace, raising awareness on the issues of drugs and HIV/AIDS and raising funds to fight the spread of AIDS worldwide.

Stand-up comedian Sundeep Rao brought on laughs and fun with his performance during the evening. More than 500 attendees were a part of the event. We also gave away the Chapter awards for 2020. Here are the winners –

TYE Global Finals

TiE Seattle and TiE Global hosted the Global Finals for TYE in July. The organizers and judges were impressed by the hard work and perseverance of all the participating high school student teams.

For the global finals this year, we hosted Vivek Ranadive as the keynote speaker to inspire TiE Young Entrepreneurs. Vivek is the Founder & Managing Director, Bow Capital | Chairman, CEO & Governor Sacramento Kings. Charlotte Yarkoni, (head of Commerce & Ecosystems at Microsoft Cloud AI) also spoke to the students. Her charter covers end-to-end customer journeys for enterprises, developers, startups, and students and answers the question when do you need house cleaning?. Charlotte organizes premier student enrichment programs including Microsoft Imagine Cup to help support innovation through Microsoft for startups and scale-up programs around the world.

This year we had 23 teams that participated in the competition. We divided them into 4 Tracks and hosted the semi-finals on July 17th. We selected 2 teams from each track that went into finals.

This year, we hosted an entirely virtual pitch competition. And we also gave a $250 award to one team in each of the four tracks. Here are the results –

TiE University Global Finals

TiE Global hosted the 2nd edition of the TiE University Pitch Competition in September. TiE Atlanta and TiE Hyderabad jointly hosted the 2-day program alongside TiE Global. The competition had 13 teams representing TiE chapters from India, UAE, Israel, USA, and Canada. After the semi-final round, seven teams were selected for the finals. Teams presented a 10-minute pitch to an eminent Jury panel and a 5-minute live Q&A. Cash and in-kind prizes worth $99,300 were given out to the 13 participating teams.

The worldwide jury panel for the finals, comprised of VCs and investors, including Bodhi Capital’s Dharti Desai, Silicon Valley Bank’s Priya Rajan, Elevate Capital’s Kumar Sripadam, and Inflexor Ventures’ Venkat Vallabhaneni. Semi-finals judges from across the globe included Craig Abbott, Rakesh Bhatia, Radhika Iyengar, Rama Devi Kanneganti, Doc Parghi, and Sonia Weymuller.

Apart from the top three winners, prizes were announced in various other categories. Silicon Valley’s Ambii and New Jersey’s Volant from New Jersey Institute of Technology jointly received the Best Elevator Pitch award. Similarly, Teams Clean Electric from IIT/BHU, Varanasi representing TiE Mumbai, and Aruga Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University representing TiE Pittsburgh jointly received the Best Technology prize. Frinks, from IIT Hyderabad, representing TiE Hyderabad took the People’s Choice Award. Apart from this, all participating teams walked away with technology and service prizes worth $6000 per team.

Program Updates

TiE Women

TiE Women is continuing to gain momentum even through the current challenges. In the past six months, TiE Women has organized pitch competitions for women entrepreneurs across 26 chapters. This year, each Chapter had the opportunity to select up to 3 runners up and 1 winner. The runners up from each chapter are currently undergoing a virtual accelerator program. Also, the winners from each chapter will have access to a mentoring bootcamp before heading to Dubai for the finals. 

TiE Dubai is the host chapter for TiE Women pitch competition finale. The event will be hosted on January 13-14th, 2021. The winner will get $100,000 equity-free cash prize, access to global VCs, investors, and accelerators. The second runner-up at the global pitch competition will get $25,000 in equity-free cash prize as well.
 
26 chapters have signed up including chapters in India, US, Pakistan, Singapore, Australia, and Dubai. More than 2000 applications have been screened across the participating chapters. Approximately 200 mentors will be a part of this program by culmination. For more details, visit – women.tie.org

TiE Access

TiE started as a network 28 years ago to help underrepresented minorities. We continue that mission today and are focusing our efforts to help underrepresented entrepreneurs such as Blacks, Latinos, Women, and others, depending on the needs of the communities where we operate. It’s not only the right thing to do in order to be highly relevant, it’s advantageous for TiE to find such companies that are often growing faster than the average startup while positively impacting key sections of the economy.
 
With that in mind, we are now launching a global program called “TiE ACCESS” which TiE Atlanta has pioneered to bridge the mentoring, funding, and networking gap for founders, who are minorities and females, to flourish as entrepreneurs. In partnership with several US chapters and led by TiE Atlanta, TiE ACCESS is currently investing $300K to help startup entrepreneurs from these underrepresented groups. In addition to investments from Atlanta members, pledges/investments have come in from CMs from US chapters such as Austin, Boston, Carolinas, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Silicon Valley, SoCal, Tampa, and others. Accredited US investors put in $5K-20K per investor to have a diversified portfolio in equity in companies that fit the criteria so we at TiE can truly “put our money where our mouth is!” The program can intersect and have an additive effect on the great work already underway through the TiE Angels and TiE Women initiatives.

TiEcon 2020

TiE Silicon Valley’s flagship entrepreneurship conference TiEcon 2020 was held on September 2nd and 3rd, 2020. The conference focused on the hottest areas of innovation including AI/machine learning, security, blockchain, digital health, and many more. The conference also featured a series of Bootcamps, VC (Venture Capitalist) Connect, and Mentor Connect sessions, creating a complete entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Indra Nooyi, former chairman and chief executive officer of PepsiCo, delivered the grand opening keynote on September 2 at TiEcon 2020. Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami delivered the closing keynote of Day One at TiEcon 2020. Other speakers during the two-day event included Eric Yuan, CEO, Zoom Communications; Fred Luddy, Co-Founder, ServiceNow; Rich Rao, VP Small Business, Facebook; Rob Bernshetyn, Chairman and CEO, Coupa; Om Nalamasu, Sr. VP Chief Technology Officer, Applied Materials; and CJ Desai, Chief Product Officer, ServiceNow. Happy New Year to all of you!!!Today brings to an end of my tenure as the Chair of TiE Global Board of Trustees. I am thankful to all my fellow TiE Global board members for their collaboration and support in taking several of the global initiatives forward. I am also thankful to all TiE Presidents and EDs who participated, supported, and made all the above initiatives a grand success.

2020 brought unprecedented changes and it also brought the world closer with a boom in virtual connectivity. TiE community thrives on Networking and mentoring and during these times when in-person meetings were not possible, TiE Chapters across the world rapidly modified the approach to full-fledged virtual assistance for our entrepreneurial community. I would like to take a moment to reflect on our achievements from the past year and to draw inspiration to achieve greater milestones in the future as we wrap this year.

We recently concluded yet another successful edition of the TiE Global Summit. The 5th edition, hosted by TiE Hyderabad was our first virtual Global Summit and witnessed active participation from almost 30,000 global entrepreneurs, attendees, industry and corporate leaders, policymakers, and the various departments of the Indian government. The three-day conclave explored the theme – Entrepreneurship 360*. Our goal with TGS5 was to highlight the factors that have enabled the remarkable success and opportunities emerging out of our global network. More details and links in the newsletter below.

At the TGS this year we launched the TiE Global Entrepreneur Awards (TGEA), the first time ever that we chose 12 categories and through a stellar Jury Chaired by N. R. Inclusion is important for our entrepreneurial community. To this end, we launched TiE Women last year and this year we are wrapping up the program with astounding success. 26 chapters are participating in TiE Women for year 1. In January 2021 we will host the finals of the TiE Women Global Pitch Competition. The next newsletter will bring more updates from the finale in Dubai.

We also launched TiE Access that aims to foster entrepreneurship among minorities and underserved groups in our chapter locations. I’m glad we’ve taken a step forward in this direction. We’ve been working on the program for over a year now.

I’m happy that during my tenure we could launch TiE India Angels and the Charter Members in India are now gearing up to invest in startups through TIA.

This year we also launched our TiE Smart card. It is a TiE micro-website on phone as an App for Charter Members that gives you the option to network with all CM’s across the globe without sharing emails or mobile numbers; lets you do group chat on various topics of your interest; helps you check out your chapter and global events, access to special deals, offers and sponsors all at one place and easily accessible. This card will soon have easy registration and access to events of your chapter and possibly be available for all members, not just CM’s. If you have not downloaded the same, please reach out to your chapter ED’s or admins, they will be able to help you with the same.

We also launched 10 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to connect with CMs from across the world, who have similar business interests. Current sectors covered- Alternate Funding, Education, Emerging Tech, Fintech, Gaming & Media, Healthcare, Hospitality & Tourism, Manufacturing, Social Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability. If you’d like to know more, please reach out to your chapter admins or log in from your TiE smart card.

Existing programs became stronger with participation from across chapters. TYE had 23 chapters and 400+ teams, TiE Univ had 13 chapters, TiE Women has 26 chapters and 2000+ applicants. CM Retreat which became virtual this year had 400 charter members participating. TiEcon Silicon Valley, which was organized virtually this year and saw a participation of about 8000 attendees.  This and a lot more updates from the past few months from our chapters in this newsletter.

As we step into the 29th year of TiE’s existence we look forward to empowering more entrepreneurs and making the entrepreneurial ecosystem more inclusive and stronger in all of our 61 chapters in 14 countries.

TiE Global Summit 2020 

 
Bill Gates – Lifetime Achievement Award Acceptance Speech at TiE Global Summit

TiE Hyderabad and TiE Global jointly hosted the TiE Global Summit 2020 (TGS).The 3- day summit was our largest-ever virtual summit for entrepreneurs with participation from approx 30,000 attendees. Global leaders with excellence in entrepreneurship and management including Bill Gates, Narayan Murthy, etc. came together to inspire entrepreneurs and ecosystem enablers. From December 8-10th, TGS was packed with 55+ hours of non-stop engagement of entrepreneurs.



The summit began with an inaugural address by the Vice President of India and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Shree Venkaiah Naidu. He was accompanied by Minister for Road Transport & Highways and the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Government of India, Nitin Gadkari. Other noteworthy speakers at TGS2020 included Gautam Adani, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Mohan Das Pai, Jessy Draper, Swati Piramal, Ritesh Agarwal, Amitabh Kant, Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, and spiritual leaders Sri Sri Ravishankar, Satguru Jaggi Vasudev, among others. TiE Bangalore – IoT Matrix

This year TiE Bangalore’s IoTMatrix had over 2300 registrations and close to 1800 attendees over 1.5 days on Dec 10-11th across 38 sessions on 3 parallel tracks. The 1800 attendees were from 10 countries. There were 120 speakers across the 38 sessions from 10 different countries including the UAE, Japan, US, UK, Australia, Singapore, Italy, India, Canada, Ireland, etc.

IOTForum is a Think-tank Initiative of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) to #RaiseIoTQuotient of India. Started in 2014, IoTForum is now a vibrant community of over 2000+ IoT/Deeptech/ Startups developing technologies & solutions across the entire IoT Stack from the sensor to the cloud, several thousands of active participants with 14 task forces and 100+ volunteers.

At IoTMatrix 3 new sessions were introduced this year –
1) Emerging Spacetech revolution in India with mentorship and guidance from ISRO (India Space Research Organization)
2) Sustainability and Smart Living with several Sustainability heads of large organizations and in partnership with Sustainability Mafia
3) Global Ecosystem connects with Japan (with METI/JETRO), UAE and trade councils from UK, Ireland, Canada, US, etc.

Other sessions focused on DeepDives in several market verticals and domains including Industrial IoT, Edge Analytics & AI, How to choose the right Accelerator, EV and Connected car infrastructure, IoT Security (in partnership with CISOPlatform), Agritech, Healthtech, 5G, Deeptech investing in India and Manufacturing in India.

IoTMatrix Awards were given to 6 startups gauged on both Innovation and Scale with another 6 Special Mentions. The event had three keynotes and few engaging fireside chats. Dilbagh Gill, CEO & Team Principal, Mahindra Racing talked about the new age technologies that aid split-second decision making in Formula-E racing cars; Supria Dhanda, Country Manager, and VP Western Digital gave a keynote on “Data is the New Fire!”; Dr. PV Venkitakrishnan, Director & Distinguished Scientist ISRO talked about the initiatives ISRO has taken to foster the new age spacetech revolution in India.

TiEcon Kerala

TIE Kerala organized the 9th Edition of ‘TiEcon Kerala’ on 17th, 18th & 19th December 2020. The event spanning three days was organized virtually this year. The theme of this years’ TiEcon was Link>>Learn>>Lead.

Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Small & Medium Enterprises inaugurated the meet on 17th December. Speaking on the impressive potential of Kerala for entrepreneurial growth, the Minister said that the state can easily tap its natural advantages, the benefits of long coastal belt and significant opportunities brought by increased and effective connectivity throughout the country.

TiEcon Kerala 2020 featured more than 40 Speakers from across the globe and more than 50 prominent investors and fund houses. More than 1000 registered participants from Kerala and across the globe participated in the conference. The conference also held segment where it was talked about workers compensation lawyers, and how to recruit them at Golden State Workers Compensation. Grand Keynotes by International Icons, Mentoring Masterclasses, Sector focussed Panel Discussions, and Curated Networking were the highlights of the conference.

Keynote Speakers included Todd Boyman of Hungry Planet Foods; Jeremy Crane, Co-Founder & CEO, Yellow Door Energy, Navas Meeran, Chairman – Eastern Condiments; Nicolas Brussan, Co-Founder & CEO, BlaBlaCar (French Unicorn); Shan Kadavil, Co-Founder, Fresh2Home; Rajan Anandan, MD of Sequoia Capital & President, TiE Delhi-NCR; Naushad Oomen, Director- Operations of Virgin Hyperloop; and Babu Sivadasan, Founder & CEO, Jiffy. Ai.

5 Mentoring Masterclasses were led by Raj Jaswa, Technical Entrepreneur on ‘Sales’; Sanjay Mehta, Founder & Partner, 100X.VC on ‘Startup Investing: from Seeding to Exit’; Dr. Kaustubh Dhargalkar, Founder – Potential & Possibilities on ‘Disruptive Business Model Creation’; Subra Iyer, Co-President, Keiretsu Forum Chennai on ‘Product Innovation & Diversification’; and Natarajan Ranganathan, Co-Founder, Foundation Partners LLP on ‘Dos & Don’ts of approaching an investor.
